    "and lingerie...remember lingerie?"

Is a sequel planned to Fury Road? The strange quotes at the end seen to indicate it may be. The part where they see the old satellite in the night sky gave me an idea for having soldiers from less damaged areas coming in to see what's been going in and one is talking to another... "We think some of the adaptations they've made may have been.....bizarre"

And speaking of irrelevant trivia Immortan Joe is the Toe Cutter from way back in Max 1.

3' is fairly normal for a front yard fence. Some zoning codes or HOA's require that the fence be at least 50% open, e.g. pickets, wrought iron, etc. and some won't allow any chain link fencing.

There was a requirement that my back yard 6' privacy fence could only be 4' high on the side yards facing the street and then only if the fence was located at least 20' back from the front corners of the house. That was high enough to keep the dogs in.

Usually a good, stout fence makes for good neighbors.

Maybe it's 4, anyhow, code enforcement wasn't going for it.

I'm not sure where. If she lived in a development with a home owners association that would probably have been where she should have started with her complaint. She took her case it to the highest court. I'm surprised any reputable lawyer would even take her case.

"Carden took the situation to Western Australia's Supreme Court — which sided with her neighbors and reportedly dismissed her case.
Her request to appeal the decision was refused by officials, but Carden said she will continue the battle."

If she's been refused by their SC, it would seem as though that would be the end of it but who knows. Maybe they have an arbitrator like Judge Judy?

British common law in AU and the UK seems sort of strange. Like Brexit in the UK. They voted for it. Then they decided to vote again, and again. Don't like the results, do it over, and over?

The senator didn't fight his neighbor over lawn trimmings. His neighbor speared him off his lawnmower from behind without valid excuse.

What did she expect? "The court hereby orders the defendant to stop cooking and her children be placed on time out until they learn how to sit still"

Maybe it's just me but if it was my BBQ that was constantly smoking out my neighbors back patio to the extent they could no longer use it I be nice about it and try to rectify it like putting a vent hood with an 8' chimney to disperse the smoky irritant. Gassing your neighbors is not a very nice thing to do.

My backyard to my neighbors are far enough apart this is not a problem. I can more occasionally smell the steak or the bbq ribs :chew:

I don't remember the details. I guess Sen. Paul was attacked by his neighbor from behind while riding his lawn mower. I did know Rene a long time ago though. He was odd and didn't fit in well even years ago while he was still attending Osteopath school.

I also know that neighbors don't attack others especially if one happens to be a US Senator. Boucher got 30 days in the Federal pen. I don't know if he was fined or what his work status is but I would guess if he still has a license, he has quite a few less patients now.

    Yeah, maybe.
A solution such as a vent hood might have been worked out between them but some people are sort of sue happy. The judge could have handled things different too I suppose, but didn't.

After all of what's happened now though, If I were the neighbor of the woman who can't stand the smell and doesn't like his kids, I might be thinking of a counter suit to have the woman mentally evaluated or at least get a restraining order to have her stay far away from the kids playing.

In the USA, I'd defiantly be dusting off the shotgun but protecting yourself is not an option in AU.

Good (as in, 6 foot and opaque) fences make good neighbours. America's aversion to fences is truly bizarre. Where I live, you wouldn't tolerate an unfenced plot for even a day. It's literally unthinkable. Like having no window coverings, or doors.

We have same regulations here. But 120cm max (4 foot) is only required across front, and on sides only as far as the front elevation of the house. Most people have solid 6 footers. Very few people in the suburbs have 'transparent' fences .. they serve no purpose at all other than perhaps keeping your dog in. It's all about privacy.

Yes, the same was true everywhere I had houses previous to that one. There, they actually tried to call for a city council meeting after the fact to have the village fence ordinance changed. It was never even considered by P & Z as there was no support for not having a properly permitted fence. These people were just used to having an "extended" yard for their kids.

Sure, but I guess that's when families and neighbors were more important than fences.

You do have to wonder why anyone would want an unfenced yard. That's strange enough, given there's zero privacy. But to want your neighbours to be unfenced does reek of some kind of exploitative personal interest. Maybe they do want to encroach.

Good fences are what makes good neighbours. And they don't limit neighbourliness at all, if you're determined to be friends with your neighbours. The bonus is that when you have crap neighbours, you don't have to interact with them .. or even look at them.

Years ago we had a rental in town and one day after some renters left and I had been cleaning, patching holes in walls and painting I sat on the back porch with a scotch and a cigar to relax. Very soon the lady next door was ringing the doorbell and demanding I put out my cigar because smoke was wafting in through her open windows. I smiled and complied and thanked God I didn't live in town.
