I'm not certain that is the answer. But before this over, conflict will spread far beyond Ukraine. The military will be part of any solution. The most devastating way to destroy the effectiveness of a military force, is for civilian authority to lack the will to deploy them.

not one word in your source stated in any way shape or form that trump wanted oil prices to drop. in fact as your source states, the price per barrel was down to near $25.00 per barrel. that was killing our & other oil companies around the world. trump (by your source) tried to buy circa 70 million barrels of u.s. oil for our reserve. but if i remember correctly. the dems controled the house and killed that. the key point which you fail to mention was the extremely (low) price of a barrel of oil at that time from your own source. that changes the whole picture from what you are trying to present.

Putin is an evil thug. Now an international murderer. That does not change the fact that his initial tactical operations were brilliant. He kept the whole world off balance trying to figure out what he'd do next. He's a thug and a murderer, but that has nothing to do with him being a brilliant strategist... at least in the initial stages of the Ukraine invasion.

Nevertheless, l strongly believe Trump, Biden, etc. are unmatched. Putin is without a soul, like Trump but Trump is just a brat. Putin is a stone cold killing machine.

 

What was "brilliant"? Weeks ago people were saying that Russia will invade after the Olympics. Even people on this forum were saying that!

 

I have my own ... totally unproven... opinion about Putin. He and I are about the same age. I think he grew up basking in the power and strength of the old Soviet Union. Now that's all gone and he wants it back. And at 69, this is his last hurrah. I think he sees the end of his life approaching and will do desperate things to bring back the old glory. He's been an athletic nut all his life and never had to face old age and with it... death. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some serious, possibly terminal illness to contend with. I don't think he's in full control of himself. And with nukes... that's more than worrisome.

 

But he pulled back 10,000 troops... confusing. Then he cut of diplomatic talks. Then he opened them again. Then he cut them off again. Then he opened up discussions but just with Macron. All the while saying all he needed was guarantees that Ukraine would not join NATO. Then all he wanted was the Dombas area... then he wanted it all... he kept the entire western world off balance... confused. Brilliant. But Putin is still a thug... just a smart, evil one.

 

That sounds like he had no idea what he wanted to do. Nothing brilliant about that. There have been 100,000 troops on that border for practically the last 8 years. Nothing smart or brilliant.

 

simple answer: putin--is smart with liberal dems. putin walks all over them. under bobo, putin took Crimea! what did bobo do to stop or punish putin. answer: nothing! now under biden: putin trying to take ukraine! and biden/slow biden does very little till putin invades ukraine. now bide (slowly) starts after russian banks. leaves the russian central bank alone!!! for now. doesn't stop the flow of russian oil to the u.s.! biden a day late and a dollar short, on brains. yea! senile!!! so putin is very smart when dealing with liberal dems. he backs off when trump was pres. didn't he?
