Oddly enough, until the COVID nonsense the city's central district had been undergoing slow redevelopment by several white-owned companies derived from the Domino's and Little Caesar's pizza companies. This led to Ford finally buying and launching sadly-overdue restoration of the majestic former rail station (which had lately been a popular horror or post-apocalyptic movie filming location.)

Died? No. Undergoing change? Yes. Gentrification threatens vast sections of the downtown area and the usual activists scream discrimination when landlords dare to ask reasonable rents to reimburse for what often are major repairs just to prepare for rental.

I have toured Detroit's worst areas in search of what is now called ruins-porn. Husks of burnt-out buildings, sadly-neglected but once-beautiful architectural features---the once-neglected train station. But in the places which ARE kept up, and there are still many despite low incomes...there is also hope.

It ain't all pimps, hos, drug pushers or carjackers. It's the media that just wants you to think so.

There are people who claim to be anarcho-socialists and even anarcho-communists, but those systems are doomed to failure because by their nature they will eventually require a form of government to administer the means of production. Very much the paradoxes, those.

I am anarcho-capitalist. Capitalism is the only economic form that does not require a government since the means of production are privately owned. Dispute resolution can be administered and enforced via private firms in the market place.

Yes, Tennessee is one of the places I'm looking at. Love their mountains and forests.
