Jay Leno says it has went 100 miles on the charge. And mind you, they were real slow. And no airco or other electronic devices who today leach electricity. No doubt these were nickle-iron batteries. That's inferior of what people use today.

Last week I drove past a Ferrari garage.

Even if I had that kind of money, I wouldn't have it for that, if you see what I mean, but seriously a long row of Ferraris. Sweeeet.
And I was looking at it and Porsche garage next door and the Maserati garage.

And I was thinking I like James Bond so screw you... you have no Astons.

But at no point ever did Tesla enter into my little road side car fantasy.

Tesla my arse. I want a Land Rover and Ferrari. And an amphibious truck for driving out to sandbars and raving.
You dull Tesla bastards. Go back to your wife and 2.4 kids.

    Tasteless vehicle. Misses the point.

I want a Lamborghini, a stupid one with flames. I park it in the front of your restaurant like I own the place and you think "what a wanker", I want that car. My Mrs refusing to get out of it because she is so embarrassed by me. Yeah.

I want that vintage Mercedes. The one with the white rubber rimmed wheels. Fancy Merc windows.
Ride around. Come out of rush hour refreshed from my armchair trip. My Mrs pleased to step out of this one with me. Any time. Any place. Oh yeah.

Not an electric car. For my grandma's shop mobility.

    Dream on.

This car you hippy enviromentalsts. Powered by some madly destructive alien fuel that can destroy the entire world and evil it up big style.

Stupid over priced grannymobiles, only tiny people getting laid in that ride.

Had an older Merc diesel sedan with mechanical fuel injection. No electronics to be screwed up by an EMP blast. Most comfortable car on a long trip I have ever ridden in because they match the seat spring rate with the wheel spring rate so you ride smooooooth. Miss that car.

Current gas car gets 40mpg on the highway. The Prius is better in town and out of town but it is more wasteful and costly dust to dust than a Hummer due to its use of precious metals, energy to produce, and loss of efficiency of batteries over time.

Shooting people is socially frowned upon here.
But we have tea? If you like tea and biscuits.
And beer, and women. And in the morning, every morning, the sun comes up.

Gosh, shooting people is frowned upon anywhere but maybe the Philippians.

Once again, choice being taken away.

I don't remember any government having to ban the horse and buggy to make it go away. People decided to switch to cars because it was more practical.

Look, if they wanted to only allow electric cars in the greater London area, that would make sense, because of air quality and noise pollution concerns, with the very high population density there. But requiring it across the whole country (even in the more remote rural areas) is taking it too far.

Twenty years ago the greenies in America were predicting the demise of the timber industry as steel framing took over home construction. Not only did that not happen but now they are using wood to build skyscrapers.

"CNN)Wood is being billed as the answer to creating greener cities -- lightweight and sustainable, it is even said to be more fire resistant than steel.

The newest addition to the timber trend is a proposed 19-storey structure that will be built in the Swedish city of Skelleftea."

Wait a minute? Nitrous is bad for you?
They give it to baby's. And drunk nurses.

It makes you car very fast and then broken.

There's a big difference between nitrous oxide and "nitrogen oxides", in terms of biological effect and generation of ground-level air pollution.
Probably more complicated to explain than you'd like to know.

Yes, I expect so. Thank you for sparing me.

I do find myself strangely uncaring it does have to be said. Bottom line, I like my car more than I like most people. It's a straight forward loyalty call.
Make a better one and when I can afford it, I'll think about it then.
Electric seems lame. But I'd like driverless. I'm nothing if not lazy.

It doesn't look like the automobile industry is able to come up with a non polluting car that drives on petrol/diesel, hence countries are starting to ban them. That is kind of it.

Are both the UK and France in collusion with Gov. "Moonbeam" Jerry Brown ?

    Is that even legal ?

The best engine for moving material known to mankind and they want to ban it. Hopefully this 'green' psychosis will come to an end and British industry and government will come to it's senses.

Every time the government gets us to spend more money, it gets a cut.
    They love green energy.

Uh, but to the detriment of overall productivity. Can't they see down the road ? Well, maybe they can. Everyone starves while government gets fatter...

Got a huge pile of manure and other organic matter out back. Been thinking of making some bio-diesel...

So you're fully environmentally busy with 100% biodiesel.

    Good boy! lol

Well electricity is cheaper than petrol or diesel. And if you currently can buy a hatchback running on electricity for 20K (euro)... than it shouldn't be such a deal in 2040 when the prices of such cars would be going lower and lower.

Or more and more expensive since in 2040 they will no longer have to compete with hatchbacks that cost a quarter of the price.

Also please consider the use of rare earth elements in batteries.
The higher the demand for rare commodities, the greater their price.

Add to this that there are only two significant natural resources for such rare earth elements, China and America and you have just elevated them into a monopoly supplier of global energy. No thanks.

Let the market decide. No more honest way to find out what people actually want.
You didn't have to regulate to move people from wood to coal. Nor from coal to petrol or from sail to steam. It made sense to them as individuals and then they did it.
