Wrong. The Inflation Reduction Act is merely another massive spending bill. It's all Congress can manage with an evenly split Senate. Dates back to Harry Reid's famous rejection of the filibuster for something similar a decade or so ago.

Even Democrats have bragged that it's "all carrots and no sticks". But you need sticks to force people to shoot themselves in the foot like that. And while all that inflation-stoking new cash, EPA can only spend money on studies and bribes to force change.

To be able to force change they'd have to amend the CAA to include greenhouse gasses specifically. And unless smart people all suddenly die, that's not likely. Ever.

    Nice try, though.

Got it you're a liar who doesn't like fact as presented. I finally get it

Now besides your BS OPINIONS are you going to refute this

In a first, the measure legally defines greenhouse gases as pollution. That’ll make new regulations much tougher to challenge in court.

When the Supreme Court restricted the ability of the Environmental Protection Agency to fight climate change this year, the reason it gave was that Congress had never granted the agency the broad authority to shift America away from burning fossil fuels.

    Now it has.

Democrats Designed the Climate Law to Be a Game Changer. Here’s How.

Do you even read what you post? This chart is absolutely classic.

Release dates ranging from 2022 to the thoroughly nebulous TBD. And the chart's from a couple weeks ago. Hint: it's almost October. 2022. This year's almost gone. Where are they? And there is one Chinese company that has supposedly sold a whopping 100 trucks. Anybody ever seen one in service?

And what exactly is attractive about maybe 2-3.5 hours charghing time for a whopping 100-350 miles? You know in trucking time is literally money. You don't want to waste it.

And then there's the unseen issues. How much do these pigs weigh? Most interstates are capped at 80,000 lbs. That's equipment and load. Total. If the trucks get heavier, that's less money making load you can haul. And if you haven't been paying attention, one of the problems with EV cars are they weigh a lot. I'm sure that applies here. Along with the fact that EV's are more expensive. That's why they don't fly out of the dealerships without heavy government subsidation.

So what was your point again?

No it doesn't. It'll never survive on appeal if they try to enforce that nonsense.

Sure Ronnie didn't gut taxes on those "job creators" right? Didn't support open borders?

    • The Trump administration's timeline on the decline of American workers starts in the late 1990s with the rise of China.
    • That thinking overlooks the impact of spending cuts, deregulation, and a shift to shareholder primacy at the expense of investment in innovation and workers.
    • That began in the 1980s when Ronald Reagan was president and led a push for more Laissez Faire economics.
    • Ignoring the US's hand in the demise of its own working class means this administration will never actually find ways to grow the economy for them.

Meanwhile, Orange EV, founded in 2012, says it has deployed over 370 trucks to some 100 fleet customers in 24 states. According to a recent report from CALSTART, Orange has the most electric trucks in service of any currently active manufacturer (the ill-fated Smith EV has delivered more trucks, but ceased operations in 2017)

The CALSTART report also notes that, as of the beginning of February, there were around 1,215 medium- and heavy-duty zero-emission trucks on US roads, and 140,000 more on order. Some 145 models are currently available for purchase from at least 30 manufacturers.

Yes. They're called "amendments", not spending bills passed with only 51 votes in the Senate.

Weird I thought laws passed with 51 were as good as bills passed with 100 in the Senate?

Great. That's setting up to be a market (given the market usually averages around a million or so trucks a year) of about 1% or less.

    Y'all go for it.

Again, clueless. A bill can only pass with 51 votes if it's strictly a spending bill. Look it up.

And that is patently insane and has nothing to do with science.
    1. Most life on earth (including human) would go extinct without CO2 in the atmosphere.
    2. The greatest flourishing life in earth's history occurred when CO2 levels were at it greatest (Cambrian, 500 myA).
    3. The increased CO2 in the atmosphere has resulted in the greatest increase in crop yields in human history... a trend that show absolutely no signs of slowing.
    4. The warming temperature and increased CO2 has resulted in the greatest greening of the planet IN THE EARTH'S HISTORY. Much much much more plant life now than there was a 200 years ago.
    5. The amount of arable land has grown and continues to grow along with the warming climate and increasing CO2 levels.

    upload_2022-9-25_10-19-55.png
Bottom line, this is fascism and lysenkoism for billionaire profit at the expense of the people and the free market. It will do nothing at all to reduce CO2 emissions.... absolutely nothing. All CO2 emissions will simply be moved around.... mostly to China/Asia/Africa. It will do plenty to move resources/freedom away from small businesses/farms and the middle class. It could very well end those institutions (which is the real goal of this measures). Don't take my word for it, Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum said as much..... you will own nothing and be happy.

A 2021 report from ACT Research found that BEV yard trucks offer a lower total cost of ownership than diesel-powered vehicles, and predicts that adoption rates could exceed 50% by 2024.

Limited but moving the semi's in the right direction

Sorry Cupcake laws passed by 61 in the Senate are as good as those passed by 100, UNLESS you "believe" Trumps tax cut for the rich was illegal?

Senate Democrats can now officially pass more bills with 51 votes
Democrats just got an unprecedented Senate blessing.

On Monday night, the Senate parliamentarian — an in-house rules expert — determined that Democrats would be able to do a third budget reconciliation bill this year, a massive development that gives lawmakers more room to pass legislation without Republican support.

...“The Parliamentarian has advised that a revised budget resolution may contain budget reconciliation instructions,” said a spokesperson for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in a statement. “This confirms the Leader’s interpretation of the Budget Act and allows Democrats additional tools to improve the lives of Americans if Republican obstruction continues.”

Great. They should be real price competetive with a used regular truck under it's 7th owner who just reconfigures some old thing he's bought cheap.
