Polydectes….. what do you think of what Christian Andreason writes about this after his near death experience?

    inner PF office memo...............

I reva the almostgreat would like to want to apologize to everyone at PF for my belated replies, some of them very much delayed. Work and other issues conspire against me and do not always permit clockwork replies even though a certain member or three seems to think
I am using that as an excuse to avoid, not so my fellow members!
    God bless PF ......................................................

Again as a straight but fairly non-traditional southern Baptist minister with an even more non-traditional and unpopular opinion I feel many gays haven’t much choice in in their sexual preference. I also feel those gays that did not ‘choose’ their gayness (lol) have no worries of their afterlife guarantees offered by God to us normal people. I do not write that lightly, and its words like that that garnered me death threats and a cc weapon permit here in the bible belt.

    The cause of homosexuality?

Sort of an absurd concept, in my opinion.

Sort of like debating the cause of blue eyes.
The cause of generosity and kindness.
    Or the cause of evil.

If it's in you, it's in you.

It matters to people who believe that homosexual behavior is "bad", because if it's genetic, they are forced to excuse it, if it's a choice, it's a choice they can condemn.
If you don't see any difference between homosexual behavior and heterosexual behavior, other than the mechanical differences, then it's of no importance in a moral sense.

It is a legitimate question for science, as it tells us something about how the brain functions.

The only thing that matters is that homosexuallity was politicized, the homosexual labeled as 'homo' (and 'lesbian' or 'lesbo' too) or 'gay', and (politically) organized as a group.

They have been 'taken out of the closet' by politics, to be organized, because they became a movement.
Large groups of people in motion (gay prides, canal parades) means (invisible) organisation is going on.
Movements are the historical problem (count the number of movements and organisations in todays societies)

That would be all of them. The only difference that matters is between those who are conflicted about it and those who would rather die than realize they're enslaved.

One of the reasons for wanting to be gay is that it grants protected minority status to the homosexual. Minority status translates into affirmative action benefits; special privileges and a host of other advantages that straight people cannot have.

Of course I don't agree with this - I am not a Christian - but I can respect that perspective. Having your own values and stuff is important, if chastity is your cup of tea all the power to you. If you want to go through some sort of homosexual reparative therapy or seek a cure that's your business.

It should matter to homosexuals, if it is found to be genetic or chemical then it could be imagined that before birth the homosexual cause/gene could be identified in the fetus. Once that happens then parents could "choose" whether their child is a homosexual and change it or the reverse and make a fetus that will be heterosexual the opposite. The same with hair color, eye color, genetic defects or what ever is caused by genes. What would the gay community do if all of a sudden the parents could make it so there were no more people of their sexual orientation? I know what the heterosexual community would do. We would blow our tops.

Speak for yourself, as I really wouldn't give a ****.
And as long as people aren't being forced to have a certain type of child, then I don't see why anyone else should either.

What is wrong with Gay people prosyletising their sexuality? People proselyise all sorts of things.

    It goes like this.

Gay Guy to me : Hey lets do Gay sex ...its great

Me to Gay guy: Sorry, I'm sure it has some great sensations but I am only into women, thanks for asking though.

Gay Guy to me: Ok sure.

Not really worried to be honest. If there ever is a "cure" I don't think it would matter to me.

Benefits? What benefits? I have been a homo all my life and have yet to see benefits.

    those imaginary benefits.

I think mostly they are jealous because homosexuals seem to be having way too much fun.
