I lived in NJ back when the Giants sucked, but even back then it was impossible to get tickets. So when the Giants were done for the year, usually about 5 or 6 games into the season, people would start giving their tickets away or selling them below face value. Since the waiting line to get tickets back then was for ever, that was the only way I ever got to see them play, even it they did lose all the time.

It’s called “makegoods” and this is from last season:

    https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nfl-...-networks-to-repay-advertisers-205733576.html

SMI, which tracks more than 70 percent of all national TV ad spending, found that NBC and CBS gave away 20% of inventory as ADUs in November 2016, compared to just 5.2% and 11%, respectively, a year earlier.

So yeah, networks do basically give out free ads when the ratings are down.

The employer is full well of those few players actions. Made a recommendation to stand, but not a requirement. Basically reiterated what you just rehashed above. SHOULD stand. Should, the operative word.

Baseball, the league that went on strike and cancelled a world series? Players juicing up to hit homeruns, and the all time homerun leader basically banned from the HoF, so far.
Baseballs greatest hitter banned from the HoF for gambling.
    See, all things have issues.

Those are three of the worst teams in the league...

Browns bears and colts have like 5 wins between them, and the bears have 3.

Find better teams with the same thing...

Attendance is down, but those are poor examples.

I'm really surprised more people aren't upset that the President of the United States is trying to kill a sport after he himself made it a bigger issue by flapping his gums. A nice manufactured issue to rile up his base even though before he said anything it was a only a handful of players that knelt.

Also considering that a lot of times people are still going to their seats when kickoff happens. How about some pics going into the fourth quarter?

They are just poor examples regardless of that. The home teams featured in those pictures....awful teams.

Attendance is down though. That part is true.

I agree. Here is the average attendance for NFL games this year broken down by team. Cleveland is still at 63K despite being horrible.

    That’s 10k fewer than capacity.

Edit: I feel one reason attendance is down is some fans are being priced out.

What do you think is the most profitable sports enterprise in the country?

Which isn't horrible considering they are awful to watch. Watched some of their game against Tennessee yesterday. Damn I would be pissed if I payed for that. LOL

People already have paid for season tickets, could it be they can't give them away and that's why we are seeing low attendance?

That doesn't answer my liink..once again the NFL has to give back advertising if the ratings are down.

Attendance is measured at the gate.

You honestly think the NFL is not making a boatload of cash right now? That is hilarious!

Lol I’d be pissed if I got the tickets for free. The rest of the visit isn’t cheap either. I use to go to a game once a year. Since the Death Star opened, I can’t justify paying the price to go.

He posted a link to the attendance figures...

If it’s the one I’ve been to before, you can compare year to year too.

The only time I got to go to Lambeau is if it was freezing outside. Now in Denver I don't care much about the Broncos, so only go if I happen to get some tickets for free from a supplier.

You know those little turnstiles you go through when entering a stadium? That is how attendance is measured. Also they have the barcode scanners which do the same thing.

Once again people buy seats before the year..so the numbers are skewed..
