    Yeah...and so what.

I doubt if the EC is going away anytime soon....probably not in our lifetime or our children's lifetime. Just because someone that you did not like was elected is a poor excuse to advocate for it's removal. I wonder if you would feel the same way if Trump won the popular vote and Hillary won the EC votes. I know I would.

And of course it is not and not how the Presidency is campaigned for nor decided.
Ummm yes it is the States that are voting in the EC. The citizens of each state vote in elections, if the state allows it, and they do so in booths and by mail.

Ooh, "one of those". Sounds scandalous. We'll put that up there with the conspiracy category to help you ignore the things you don't like or agree with.

The map is pretty self explanatory but it shows that basically most of America did vote Trump. Their is no reason why a few counties should have a say over the rest of the nation. This is just an attempt to circumvent the will of the people in favor of party politics.

be nice to get to a system where the candidate with the most votes won... rather then the losers like Bush and Trump winning

can you imagine the outrage if Obama lost the popular vote but still won... I can

not in the least, Trump was wrong, Obama did not lose the popular vote in 2012

but Trump did lose the popular vote in 2016

and unlike Trump, I do not support a revolution if the President loses the popular vote, I just would like to see the rules change so we never have another Bush or Trump again

This is soooooooo full of bovine scatology that its almost....ALMOST....as bad as Trumps speech at CPAC about “infanticide”.

Early voting is not a “loophole law”. Why are you so against people actually voting ?

I see you were curiously quite on election fraud when perpitrated in Carolina by republicans. it’s apparently Ok in your world for candidates to steal elections via election fraud, but you draw the line at a parolee casting a single vote that she honestly thought she was allowed to cast.

What do sancuary cities and catch and release have to do with voting ? It’s beyond a false flag. To make the connection to those you literally have to grab some whole cloth. You take that to a new level by then claiming that the 2nd amendment will be abolished so “the people can’t fight back”. Good god man. That’s some serious infowars level nutbaggery.

why are you so afraid that people will actually vote ? Oh wait, I know, because if we use the actual vote for president, the right would loose. This isn’t about representation, as all states are equally represented by their population in the HOR, and equally in the senate.

Why should a single vote in Montana carry 3 times the value of the same single vote in California ?

no doubt, republicans are trying to rig the elections to the person with the least vote wins

one vote should equal one vote, why should my vote be worth more if I move to one state then another?

I don't see how this sort of thing would survive a court challenge. It would completely negate every vote in the state, relying solely on how other states voted. Democrats are getting ridiculous, but if this did pass and it worked against them, they'd be the first ones whining, as per the norm...

Myself, I don't necessarily think that the person with the most votes should win....specifically for the Presidential election. The Founders had it right with the EC system. Most voters, especially today, seem to be uninformed or vote on the color of a person's tie or how their haircut looks. In today's age, there is way too much partisan voting (imo). The candidate themselves no longer matters. It seem that the only thing that matters is the (D) or the (R) after their name.

I simply cannot believe that it was even proposed in the first place, it clearly doesn't pass Constitutional muster, how could LAWMAKERS not see that?

That’s the only way the GOP can install one of their turds into office....First GW Bush, now the present imbecile. Only four or five states are really in play so it makes it easy to steal the election by paying off a few crooked county officials in key districts. Our national elections should be revamped and standardized ballots with verifiable paper trails should be in place. Anyone running for a position in which he or she represents ALL Americans should only be elected if he or she gets the most overall votes in total. It’s bad enough that pissant states like the Dakotas, Wyoming, and Idaho have 10 US Senators while California have only 2 with three times the population. This antiquated unfair system needs to be totally revamped.

What are states doing picking the leader of the executive anyway? That should be the peoples' choice. What a stupid system. We only have it because the rural slave states threw a hissy fit during the convention.

What rabbit hole is that ?

The electoral college was ratified when there were only 17 states. The population was fairly evenly split that that time, and almost ALL of it was rural. The problem it was to solve was that most of those rural people didn’t vote, while the few population centers actually did vote. They wanted equal representation to cover those “non voting” rural citizens to help offset those who did in the population centers. Sound firmiliar ? Well it should because thats the argument of the those who support the electoral college use, but they leave out one very important part of the equation, which is that back in 1804 the rural communities didn’t vote because that their access to voting was much harder than those in the population centers. And the biggest difference of all was that the electoral college votes were cast based on that populor vote. Today they are NOT.

Today we have “winner take all electoral votes in every state but 2.
So what that means is that the loosing candidates in each state get NO votes, thus making the path to victory much easier. EX: In Georgia if Hillary got 49% of the popular vote, she got ZERO electoral college votes.

So how is that fair ?
