there is no evidence that NYC's idiotic gun laws-which have been around back when NYC was teeming with murders-has much, if anything to do with its currently better than average murder rates
And yet you can not find me a large city with lax gun laws and low gun deaths like NYC. It is clear to anyone that can see gun control has played a huge part in the success of NYC becoming so safe
I thought the idea was to find a large city with lax gun laws and low gun death rate. I agree with very few gun laws anywhere. Wouldn't you agree that Austin Texas has more moderate gun laws than NYC?
LOL, the banners just haven't come up with a good lie or smear to distract people from your arguement. Give them time, if they are good at anything its lying.
Dude, you gotta learn to quote people. Most of your replies I have no idea who you're talking to or what you're talking about.
Then NYC is a thriving "Rich Ghost Town" according to its hometown newspaper of record. As you know by now, gun control always encourages crime. Claims that the problem has been solved are always eventually revealed to have been false. The gun ban turned Manchester into "Gunchester". THE INDEPENDENT, Fatal shootings undermine claims that Manchester is winning war on gun crime. Mark Hughes reports, BY By Mark Hughes, Crime Correspondent, Tuesday 25 August 2009. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/gunchester-the-sequel-1776782.html
My OP had a whole host of "common sense gun reforms" enacted in CA that appears to have made the problem worse.
VG: "Yes it [NYC] is a thriving metropolis......and it has low crime due to gun control continues to insist that gun control has made NYC safer. " So far, he has failed to show any correlation between gun control and the lower crime rate.
This is what happens after governments impose severe gun control. Guns provide a far more decisive advantage to criminals once they know their targets have been disarmed for their convenience, and guns will always be easy for criminals to obtain. “It's a culture where the gun appears to play a large part. It is a respect thing. The gun is sometimes seen as an accessory - almost a fashion accessory - and is sometimes used to demand respect from their peer group." Paddy Meaney, Martin Wainwright, “Killings put 'Gunchester' back on crime map,” “Police warn that weapons have become a fashion accessory as 17-year-old becomes latest victim of Manchester's gangland rivalry London's gun violence: special report,” “The Guardian,” 1/14/00. https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/jan/14/ukguns.martinwainwright Manchester became "Gunchester" 4 years after the gun ban.
Crime, including gun crime surges in every DP run American urban Hell Hole. I am sure you have noticed. The correlation has been proved repeatedly in America and even in the UK where there has been an outright ban for decades. “Stephenson last week dropped a plan to put routine armed patrols on the streets, saying that although gun crime had risen it was still lower than two years ago and he was not willing to sanction such a dramatic departure from the principle of unarmed policing. However, the true scale of the increases is contained in figures being presented on Thursday to the Metropolitan police authority. They reveal that the number of actual shootings has almost doubled from 123 to 236 in the last six months compared with the same period last year, a rise of 91.8%. Serious firearms offences have risen by 47% across the capital.” “London gun crime rises as shootings nearly double Teenage boys with cheap guns involved in 'respect shootings' to blame for increase, say experts” THE GUARDIAN, London gun crime rises as shootings nearly double”. Sandra Laville, Guardian, Last modified on Friday 8 January 2016, 21.47 EST http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2009/nov/03/london-gun-crime-shootings-rise How can gun crime ever soar after guns are banned? Think it through.
They are certainly entitled to that opinion. But it is a thriving metropolis many have called the financial center of the US. And it has ver low crime for such a large and diverse city and even you can not deny that fact. Gun control is a massive success there
So, if it's more gun laws that made things worse then how it is places like AK, which is very lax regarding gun laws has a higher violent crime rate than CA? Shouldn't AK have a lower violent crime rate than CA? Now, I am in no way advocating for more gun laws. But this isn't as simple as people making a blanket statement of 'more gun laws' = less safe, 'less gun laws' = more safe.
