AK's firearm death rate includes a large number of suicides. I, too, would probably off myself if I lived there. Also, the population density is so low that as seemingly trivial a difference of 10 total deaths would vastly impact the per 100k rate that is the standard.
Right, except I was talking about violent crime rates, not suicides. The violent crime rate I'm referring to is based on per 10k. But ok, how about AR, MO, NM, LA, SC, NV? All have lax gun laws but a higher violent crime rate than CA. Again, all I'm trying to point out is that this isn't a black and white issue.
No, you're dodging the question. What gun laws bug you? Since you're being shy about it I'll help you. Would banning the AR15 bug you?
I might be incorrect but it looks like DentalFloss posed a question first. Maybe if you answer his he will answer yours. So... "what would you consider 'common sense gun control?'"
Since gun control has been a constant in NYC gun control cannot be responsible the reduction in crime since NYC's transformation into a ghost town of the rich.
It's just a giant coincidence that the largest most successful and diverse city in the US has low crime and effective gun control. A giant coincidence. Lol
Correct, you are incorrect. There's no law demanding an answer to a question in here before you're allowed to ask a qualifying question.
True, it’s not a law. It is, however, common courtesy to actually answer a persons question before asking a question. Is it too much to ask of you to answer a question before asking one of your own?
1. Crime was high in NYC under strict gun control. 2. When did Hawaii impose strict gun control, and when did crime there drop and how much? 3. Canadian cities have more crime than NYC. 4. In the EU criminals receive free hand grenades when they buy their sub-machine guns. I am surprised you would mention the EU in the aftermath of the Strasburg slaughter. 5. Japanese criminals seem to prefer more exotic weapons like sarin. 6. Reports of crime reductions often prove to be Fake News. For instance: "Correction: January 4, 2018 An earlier version of this article mischaracterized the crime rate in Victoria State over the past five years. It has risen nearly 20 percent, not fallen nearly 20 percent." NEW YORK TIMES, Australia’s Prime Minister Warns of ‘Gang Violence’ by African Migrants, By Adam Baidawi, Jan. 4, 2018. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/04/world/australia/gang-violence-melbourne-turnbull.html
A lot of CA's criminals have moved to "Los Anchorage", and the natives have not managed to shoot enough of them yet. "As cocaine and crack abuse surged in the 1980s, so too did the number of gangs and gang members in what some Alaskans began to refer to as “Los Anchorage.” And as the violence associated with street-level narcotics sales began to increase, there was hesitation among law enforcement officials to apply the “gang” label to the new type of crimes they were seeing. Street gang members from the Lower 48 moved north in greater numbers in the late 1980s to escape trouble and to make money, the police say. “We started seeing tagging for example, or graffiti, and then there were a lot of fights and some of them started to involve weapons,” former Anchorage Police Chief Walter Monegan said." 1. Its very low now and gun control deserves much of the credit. 2. Look it up. They have very low gun deaths now 3. So? Canada has a much lower gun death rate than the US thanks to gun control 4. False 5. How many died from sarin last year? 30,000 died from guns in the US 6. We both know NYC has a low crime rate due to gun control. Why deny it? LOL
