Until a few years ago support for Israel came from both parties. Conservative support has been consistent while support from Democrats/leftists has deteriorated to the point of being openly hostile.It was hardly a reaction to the very far right - whatever that is.

 

The Arabs still get to do most of the work in the region that makes the industry thrive, they just don't get the profits any more.

 

The very far right is, of course, the neoconservative movement in the U.S. that brought us the Iraq invasion and the Likud Party and religious right in Israel that is never going to allow peace.
