Cost hasn't come down in California with Obama Care. I was looking at an Obama Care Bronze plan. To go to an Immediate Care clinic the co-pay is $120. I have used them before in the past myself, when I pay cash the price is $75....without the monthly premium.

Damn I hate to hear that. We all talk about these numbers like they're numbers... but really there's a story behind each one and these types of policies hurt real people in real places where it really matters.

    You have my condolences.

Well, that is pure BS. Doctors are a business and have to cover their costs. Those that stay in will be faced with spending less time with a patient.

Why I had to quit accepting Medicare

Why I decided to opt out of Medicare as a provider

You don't think doctors have to cover their costs?

But in the end, all they have to do is COVER these costs. They don't have to profit. That's the difference. They don't have to charge more than they have to, it's basically wholesale healthcare.

You still don't get it. Health Care Insurance is one of the lowest profit businesses. Government will eat that up and some with higher costs and inefficiency.

    Nobody believes that.

It's like saying the Hussein Obama Depression is over.

Only mad-dog Democrat partisans believe a lie this enormous.

What inneficiency? You have yet to state facts on this claim. I mean, consider another non-profit government program: USPS. Before being treated with backwards funding regulations, they were on the way to being the most economically efficient parcel delivery service in the world with the lowest prices. They were about to have an entirely electric fleet of street delivery cars, which would've saved millions a year in delivery costs until they were told they had to provide BEFORE each year instead of after each year all of the pension payouts, meaning it cut into their operating costs fiscally. They're still cheaper than UPS and FEDEX with similar shipping. I'm sure you're going to be like, 'well look at them now' which is my point. If you (*)(*)(*)(*) up the funding for any program, it's going to have adverse affects. YOu defund schools, you get (*)(*)(*)(*)ty schools. And this is all due to people saying 'I don't want to pay taxes'. It's a deeper issue, but trust me, the government can run efficiently if it has adequate funding. Because unlike a business, any money that goes towards a government program isn't going to be siphoned off into a profit margin, it goes right back into the system to provide the service. The government doesn't make profits, it makes (*)(*)(*)(*) happen. WHen you pay it to make (*)(*)(*)(*) happen, it'll make (*)(*)(*)(*) happen.

LOL, sure. They are so efficient that they run over budget and have to borrow to their limit. They are hoping they will get you to pay for them through taxes.

Going from the 800,000 jobs a month loss in the Bush depression, to Obama's job growth depression ever since, is definitely worth noting, the real Bush depression is over, that Obama inherited.

I know in NY the rates have gone down; the signup has gone very well. Can't speak for other states tho', but i can see the rates also dropping over time regardless of what the naysayers opine.

Again, you ignore the fact that they would pay pensions AFTER making profits at the end of the year. Now they have to pay upfront. This is what undermined the postal service. They pay upfront, they're working from a hole, meaning scalebacks before the year even starts, which means less service, cutting staff, etc.

Derp on you, sir. Derpity derpity doo.

Do you understand the difference between insurance and medical care?

Medical cost aren't high because of insurance companies.

Insurance is paying constantly into a pool so that when you need medical care, your money pays for it. Insurance looks for profit, and then also charges you to STILL pay for your medical costs up to a point which is unreasonable. If you're paying 500 bucks a month every godamned month, why the (*)(*)(*)(*) should you pay up to 10,000$ deductible? You already pay that much money into the system in two years. Why do you still have to pay that much for medical costs? You're paying twice for anything less than cancer.

Not even I have a $10,000 deductible and I probably make more than anyone else here. If you pay that much for premiums and your insurance requires that much for a deductible, then you're better off not having insurance at all. You may not understand, but the purpose of insurance is to protect against events that are unlike to happen that cannot be paid from normal income or savings. Like any other insurance, a premium is for the use of the insurance.

You have deductibles, which pay for all medical treatment once you've met your deductible for that year, and you have Co-Pay, which works as a co-payment with your provider. Insurance companies have an overhead and need to make a profit, just like ever other institution.

I'm sure if you use big numbers and obscene scenarios, you can convince anyone that anything is wrong.

Much of the success of this law revolves around attitudes. If you want something to work, It's going to work. Look at Massachusetts. If someone can give me a very comprehensive explanation to why it shouldn't work based on that model, I'm all ears. I would also like to know how Governor Nathan Deal's plan is better. He has proposed, and by the way, they have already closed 8 hospitals in that state where they could open them if they accepted Obamacare, instead have asked the federal government if they can turn patients away at hospitals who can't pay up front for services, if they are having a baby or having a heart attack for example. How is his plan better than Obamacare? http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/georgias-deal-tighten-er-access

How about the fact that no other state decided to follow the Massachusetts model...

It's already against the law to turn away patients from emergency care due to inability to pay.

He's not going to get it. No matter how many different ways you explain it to him. 2+2 never equals 4 for them.

What about the fact they may have wanted to see if it worked first? New York and others seem to be following along with that good attitude. At the end of the day, when your government officials are really working for you instead of some Koch brother interests, things do work.

I know that. You obviously did not read my post. I said he was proposing to turn patients away with federal approval. That's his Obamacare plan.

Now think of the fact that insurance agencies have to market to get people join them, menaing they're fighting for premiums. They're limited by the number of premiums they can get. Now take the premium to include all 300+ million people in the world. They're all paying into the system a percentage of their income to one system. Holy (*)(*)(*)(*), suddenly have all the money you need to take care of the sickly and not affecting people who aren't sickly and it's like insurance except...the deductible is nationwide wide based on all the premiums. Thus why insurance is a scam and why a central planned insurance, i.e. government insurance, would make more sense for everyone.
