If you are a liberal then you should know about the ACLU, right?

WHAT TO DO IF THE FBI OR POLICE CONTACT YOU FOR QUESTIONING

    • You are NOT REQUIRED to answer any questions and you have the right to consult with an attorney.
    • you can tell him or her that you want to consult with an attorney first.
    • Remaining silent is NOT a crime.

This the most common form of "perjury trap."

You truthfully say under oath "No, I wasn't at that location that day."

The prosecution then has 2 people testify (falsely) you were. 2 against 1, you are found guilty of perjury even though you didn't.

THE most COMMON usage of a perjury trap is reliance upon others who will commit perjury - deliberately or in error - to claim it disproves what the accused says.

How many cases have there been where eye witnesses falsely identifying the accused, particularly if black? To convict you of perjury, the FBI or law enforcement only has to have someone willing to commit perjury against you.

Well... in this, as in everything, you have two options: you either mindlessly repeat wingnut media talking points. Or you look at reality. Here is reality.

She wiped the floor with the guy.... And this was about 6 or 7 hours into the grilling

Your boy Trump would've caved by then and would be crying on the floor begging to get back to his tanning bed.

I don't know... "I don't know" is not perjury unless you do know and are hiding the fact! So you think they're going to ask Trump what he did on a particular date and then accuse him of perjury if he can't remember?

These responses have been getting more childish by the minute. If that's what you're afraid of, then I would demand making the proceedings public. That way we'll know if the questions were as idiotic as that.

In the mean time... you obviously don't have anything to contribute. Thanks for trying.

    Next!

What does that have to do with "perjury trap" for the President?

Are you having reading comprehension problems?

No, are you having trouble putting things into context? The ACLU is a liberal lawyers union who gives advice on how to deal with the law, hence the link in my comment.

I guess you get the prize for the most childish of all examples. That is so naive it's laughable. So Mueller is going to base a public case against the President of the United States on 2 witnesses who lie. And you call that a "perjury trap" He could do that without any testimony by the President whatsoever. I mean, if Mueller were 9 years old, that is...

Thanks for tr... well... I can't even give you points for trying on that one.... Goes too far beyond the idiocy threshold.

So you wanted to brag about how you know about the ACLU, and you decided to do so on a thread where it has no bearing?

Why, Trump is not a US citizen? He should not follow the advice the ACLU gives regarding speaking with the FBI?

First i heard of it was when Clinton was president. Democrats tried to claim he was in a perjury trap. I did not understand it either.

If Trump is smart he will listen to his lawyers. I won't even speak to a local cop. Just remember, every single thing you say is being listened to very carefully, and being examined for anything they can use to investigate you. It's what they are trained to do.

You want Trump to plead the 5th?

Instead of making a fool of yourself, why don't you read the 5th Amendment?

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury..."
He refuses to speak with the FBI... guess what Mueller will do?

dont start threads soliciting information if you dont want it. That means you are trolling. So which is it...do you know what a perjury trap is or not? If you do, its time to get a mod involved to address your troll thread.

I completely understand it in the case of Clinton. His choice was either to commit perjury or jeopardize his matrimony.

What is the equivalent regarding Trump? Is it that if he doesn't commit perjury he'll jeopardize his Trump Tower Moscow deal?

If you have a serious answer, go for it! This concept that the President of the United States will be convicted of perjury because he can't remember what he did on a specific date is not serious (to put it mildly).

So you can either make a serious attempt, or try to get the whole Thread closed to hide the fact that you (nor anybody on the right, for that matter) has anything even closely resembling a rational argument.

In either case, my point has been made...

Nope, I haven't. You asked for an example.

How about we throw out all allegations, personal opinions, political mockery and sniping, and find some facts?
    Damn. That would be refreshing.

I do. I know what the Perjury Trap Doctrine is. And I also know it doesn't apply in the Russia investigation. So I asked what it meant to Republicans in this case.

There are a lot of answers here about trying to trick Trump. The reality is that his lawyers don't want him to take the stand because he lies constantly. Like you said it may be pathological. In that case, is it perjury if he believes what he is saying to be true?

No. You didn't read? I created it to find out what Republicans understand by "Perjury Trap".

Shouldn't be this difficult for you to understand. It's right there on the title.
