Why would they "try" that legislatively when every third grader knows thats not possible?

So you are fine with the President and his family having voting representation in Congressional committees and 2 Electoral Votes? PR 2020 vote 52 to 48 for down from 97% approval in 2017.

The spark of desperation in your comment is readily apparent. Try actually reading the constitution so when you so publicly abuse it, you'll know next time. Your imperialism and colonialism seems appropriate for the democratic party you shill for.

Sorta like the two Dakotas where they draw straws as to who their senators are.

I mean, while we're at it, why not just annex Ontario, Alberta, the NW territories, and make them states. The vain glory of democrats knows no bounds...Why do people move to the district in the first place? They must know their limitations, and it seems like personal choice, is it not? What democrats want is the constant shift of the goal posts in order to fix a game they aren't winning....

And yet it doesn't say the district can't be changed. Indeed, it's been done before. And the Constitution also does not prohibit the people from forming a new state. This has been done before as well.

Exactly the Constitution is based on the principles as outlined and discussed in the Federalist Papers which clearly explain the reasoning and logic and neccessirty of the federal district and that has not changed.

Democrats also have the constitutional right to add as many SCOTUS seats as they want. Agreed?

There is nothing explicit that requires the seat of government to be contiguous. It is just simple unassailable common sense logic. You know like nobody would even think of dividing NYC into five different parcels and moving each to a different part of the state of NY.

Republicans (and other rationale people) know that constitutionally the seat of federal government cannot be in or under the control of a state. The current D.C. can be shrunk in size but it makes no sense to turn the carved out piece into a state as opposed to returning it to VA and MD from whence it came. Except the dems feel that they can get two more senators by making an area 3.5% the size of our smallest state into a state in its own right. And they do that with a straight face!

Congress cannot put the seat of federal government, whatever it is called, in a state.

And acquiescence of the federal territory does not require a new state and there are constitutional and legal arguments the land would go back to the state of Maryland of which it previously was. You can't make a new state out of a previous state territory or combining two states without the approval of the state legislators.

So if the issue is representation on the floor of the Congress then roll them hack into Maryland no new state needed.

Democrats put US citizens in camps before too, huh. Try learning from your mistakes for a change...

First you wrote, "I'm arguing the Constitution which is based on the Federalist Papers" and now you write "the Constitution is based on principles as outlined and discussed in the Federalist Papers." Why don't you get your thoughts sorted and then we can discuss them.

You sound like those moonies... I supplied you some "literature"... Laughable. Now go back to the source doc, the constitution, and learn from it.

The 23rd amendment grants 2 electoral votes to the residents of the District of Columbia and representation in Congress which can vote in Committees and debate but no vote on the floor, the final passage of a bill. If the District will only contain the White House, the Capital and the Supreme Court as DC as proposed who would he the only residences?
It will take an amendment revoking the 23rd so either way it's going to take an amendment.

Your avatar says all we need to know about what you feel about truth and stuff... The fact you cannot see that these two things are equal... well... this is why I constantly ask when the refund from abusive pubic education is going to come. It's post like this that expose just how ridiculously underprepared the output of our current public education system is.

You seem to have wandered off an ocean cliff. Quite a feat considering West Virginia has no coastline.

Best long jump I've ever seen. Can we expect you to compete this summer in Tokyo?
