You asserted a filibuster kills a bill and then that it could only be done with the concent of the Democrates... both assertions incorrect.

Whether the Dems would initiate a filibuster and what the GOP will do for political consideration is an entirely different issue. Gun control is not a universal interest among the Dems (the failure to pass substantial gun control measures and monitoring who voted for what shows that) and there is a high likelihood there would be enough that would side with the GOP to invoke Cloture.

As for the Bill's chances, while the following site would obviously be run Rights biased, it does have a pretty good assessment for the chances for the Bill...

Though I am for passage of the Bill, it impacts me little... I am permitted in all but 8 states, states I have little interest in because in visiting anyway.
Also, while one of the objection is see repeated references to lack of training... I do training. The majority of my students aren't in my concealed carry classes, but in advanced skills, long range shooting, force on force, home defense and other offerings. All my classes are usually at capacity. Often, those in my CC classes have already been through some of my other classes.

I did not assert they were unbiased, quite the opposite, I stated their bias, merely they had a coherent arguement why the bill might pass.

One thing I learned growing up in Ireland... every media source is biased. Few Among the Irish read a single source; many read from 6-10 news paper sources and news sites a day (I still read 5 different Irish news sources a day among others) and read them in the context of their biases. Lol...you could' engage in the pub sport of debating politics otherwise. To simply dismiss the article based on the name lends nothing to a cricism to arguements it made.
Personally, I could care less. One thing I have noticed in the US rarely read anything that doesn't support their individual bias. I read gun control sources, the Trace being one, and two of my best friends are fervent gun control advocates; debate between us is frequent, passionate and I haven't shot them yet. But, one now has a gun for home defense and is trained by me (yep, now officially a handgun owner) and the other has started asking if I will help him do the same... one is a exNFL player twice my size who has also inquired about me doing some unarmed SD training for him and his children. We often disagree on this issue and others, but, one thing I will attribute them, they don't discount the opposition, but read all positions and make their own judgements... they don't just dismiss sources out of hand. For each of us, we often learn more when challenged by each other, but we also learn about each other.... and remain close friends despite our differenences. I have promised to rise to their defense and arm them when SHTF...they are friends after all.

I'd stop if you could make 1/3rd the argument they can support...

Absolute bovine excrement. You have to apply for a license prior to purchasing one, and friends of mine in the NYPD tell me they reject EVERY first application. That's about $400, which costs more than many handguns to begin with. Then you have to apply again, at another $400 fee, only to (maybe, if you're lucky) face a series of interviews where the local authorities get to decide if they think you have a good enough reason. And if you don't, then it's ANOTHER $400 fee to apply again. If you're willing to do it 3 times (and pay the vig), they might, maybe, but not definitely, let you have one at home, and nowhere else.

Imagine the face-melting screams from the left if a woman had to go through this process to have an abortion.

My 21 and 23 year old sons could go to the store and have a new gun in 30 minutes. They could then keep it loaded in their trucks in Texas. NY gun laws are obscene and an excuse for extortion.

Some of the posters here have significant personal experience that directly relates to the topic; beats empty armchair Pollyanna arguements IMO.

10 years active duty and former LEO. Now go ahead and attack me personally. I had a Company Commander that could shout curses you never heard of so you won't say anything I haven't heard. LOL
