I think you're missing the point. When you grow up with a girl, you develop brotherly affections for her which turns off sexual attraction. It doesn't matter if they are blood related or not, they grew up as brother and sister, and for a psychologist to plant in Debra's head that she's attracted to her brother is just sickening. What's even more sick is that it took root. But it should be clear in this last season that there is no reciprocation on Dexter's part. He doesn't think of Deb that way....so it's all her incestuous sickness, not his.

 

ehh... i wouldnt blame the psychologist. she didnt plant the idea, it was clearly already planted. the psychologist just "bbrought up the 3000 pound gorilla in the room" she didnt plant any ideas.
