I don't know if there was exterior control of OPEC. If the military hadn't been degraded the rescue mission in Iran might have been successful and Carter would have had a second term.

 

When all of those marines were slaughtered in Lebanon it didn't seem to affect reagan.

Oh it did affect him. Putting military men on guard duty with empty rifles is unforgivable. The military man must always be able to fight and kill as necessary and never be made a mere mannequin on public display. I still think Reagan sucked as a man.

After PERMANENT 14% tax cut the wealthy and TEMPORARY 2-4% tax cut for rest America - if you belong to 1% America is the best place ever!

Someone will own AI. They will be incredibly rich and powerful. Most likely you will be powerless to stop them and protecting yourself from them will be a full time "job".

Specifically, social security and Medicare. We paid for those benefits. It is a return (a poor one) of our payments. This is very different from programs that people feel entitled to from government.

why not raise the caps on the rich rather then take away benefits from the poor or raising the retirement age - lower the retirement age back down

Where you live there's aren't swarms of homeless bums spreading sh*t, piss, vomit, disease and garbage all over the place? Where you live there aren't street-beggars at every major traffic intersection? Where you live the city and county aren't having to spend hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to provide "services" for wandering crowds of bums? Where you live, the hyperliberal ACLU lawyers haven't threatened to sue and/or hammerlock the various state, county, or local governments if they DARE to take effective measures to get the bums OUT?!

Because there was a clear and immediate terrorist threat to the US as illustrated by 9/11, there wasn't that in the 80s (AQ were all fighting in Afghanistan with CIA help).
