As I said, evolution isn't a singular thing (and the word is commonly misused, especially by it's opponents). If you want to claim that an assertion is being made without evidence, you'd need to give much more detail and, ironically, present evidence for your assertion. Regardless, no conventional definition of religion is "a claim without proof". Even if the basis everything you're suggesting were correct, that still wouldn't make your statement that "evolution is a religion" valid. Again, just over-simplistic word-play.
The fact is that evolution was only conceived as a means of reconciling lots of diverse biological and fossil record data that otherwise made no sense. It is also a fact that Darwin lived in a devotedly religious community and that he would have much preferred that his ideas DID NOT conflict with religion. Darwin had zero Anti-religious agenda. Darwin refrained from publishing his ideas for many many years precisely because he was concerned about the reactions of the religious people around him. So, instead of aiming to confront religionists, instead Darwin was highly deferential to religious ideas. Darwin only published after it became clear that other scientists had arrived at similar conclusions and would publish these ideas regardless of what Darwin decided
Do you have reading comprehension deficiencies ? How so is explained in my post. What part of human DNA changes (mutations if you want a more technically correct definition) did you not understand the first go around ?
The primary issue in these threads in not a lack of data supporting Evolution, it is a lack of intellectual ability and curiosity displayed by those who disagree with it. Every single one of these mental masturbation threads end the same way, with little accomplished and no education accepted.
The issue is always the same, rather than offer a competing theory for Evolution, they simple want to attack that theory. It appears that they simply do not understand that "gods did it" is not a competing theory.
Let's start with human evolution from one of the finest natural history museums in the world and let's see they found fossil bones, DNA evidence, traced human expansion using the tools of science and discovered even rough time lines as to how we moved and even discovered evidence of trade and exchanging of technology (Clovis Point Spears). If one bothered to even do the most simple on-line research and watched scientific educational programs such as the NOVA series on public broadcasting in the USA. Now is it fully understood top to bottom ,no, but its clear humans are an ancient species going from one ancestor to another with inbreeding between humans and near humans like Neanderthals. http://www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/the-origin-of-our-species.html
bacteria evolve, thing that evolve on a shorter time frame, this is why antibiotics one day will be useless, those bacteria that change enough to survive will became the new bacteria we know about dna now, so we know the science behind it - we can even artificially do it there are many examples, mass swings of the environmental often cause the most changes as then everyone that mates going forward is the ones that survives and they continue on but we see it in the fossil record, on islands that have been isolated from the rest of the world, ect.... it's not a fast process in nature, but man can do it much faster artificially here, this will get you started https://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/lines_01
If you have the proof why not post it? Or is it perhaps you have no proof and just want to try and disprove arguements to the contrary.
Because its observable? It also is not discounted in the bible as a possibility. In fact, nothing about evolution contradicts any biblical teaching whatsoever, I think it rather supports it.
1) That's perhaps the most useless definition of "religion" offered in this forum so far. No, belief and religion are not the same thing. I believe life on earth will continue tomorrow, rather than being wiped out by a quasar. Life-will-be-here-tomorrowism isn't a religion. 2) Please define what you think evolution is, because I have yet to meet anyone who denies evolution and actually understands it.
So... what is religion, but not a belief that Jesus walked on water or a whole ocean was split to get Jews out of slavery... or frogs falling from the sky... Do you want me to continue? Because someone said a puddle of snot made you...
That statement is ridiculous... there is no falsification in any of my discussions to date. What you posted is rdiculous in all counts...
I have DESTROYED anyone that believed evolution is real on this website and all others... Check yourself... Undefeated here and everywhere else... because you all are the faithfully without knowing the HOW evolution cannot work on a molecular foundation... But, please... continue telling me your religion....
Look... As God or Jesus- none of you have see evolution. Not been recreated or even defined, like the things they say Jesus did, like walk on water... Unless, Evolution comes up with something outside of gibberish, then talk to me. Please, I want to hear from people who know what they are talking about...
I disagree, there is a very good chance that God used our science to create everything he did. Its doubtful he just snapped His fingers. So understanding science helps you to understand God and how he works.
