Oh no, they know who did it.

They just can't walk into North Korea and arrest them.

A kid in Florida, not so much.

How dare you attack our law enforcement agencies! Don't you know liberals are telling us that is an attack on the Constitution??

But seriously, are you saying that the hacker(s) was/were US citizens and we just couldn't catch them? Is that the argument?

Go ahead and use your VPN and TOR while you're at it. Just don't be surprised when you get caught anyway.

No, I have no idea who the hackers were. Even though they left hundreds of thousands of signatures the authorities still took 5 months or so to come up with the biased guess that the hackers were working for North Korea. However, it is still not as clear as that. The claim is it was done by a group called the Lazarus group who the west say are working for NK - they don't claim that this group are based in NK. They have no idea where they are based. Cruz could use the same VPN as these hackers. Online gamers use VPNs or proxies all the time as it is a way to multiplayer a game using bots to give you an advantage - they are not using it do hide their identity. But they cannot be traced as the IP could point to the other side of the world

Yes comparing the difficulty of tracking down a teen who made a comment on YouTube to a massive global hack is completely analogous.

Yeah the FBI can never track you down if you use a VPN and Tor.

I mean all those guys doing kiddie porn on the internet are completely safe.

Believe what you want if it makes you feel safer.

I am pretty sure the right is saying they want new laws so the FBI can determine if your same enough to own a gun or not, and put you on a list that will deny you the privilege of the right to bear arms

correct me if I am wrong republicans, is that what you are saying?

if you say something like "'I could shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters ..." then the FBI could come in and take away your rights if they so choose

I had not heard that. At present five states have laws which facilitate this although they would not apply directly to the FBI.

Sorry but what are you babbling about that involves ignoring the Constitution. Do you not understand that a " well organized militia" does not actually apply to mentally deranged individuals with guns.

And anyone that thinks the FBI can just take people into custody and then have a psychiatrist commit them with no legal proceedure has no clue about due process.

Mentally deranged individuals are not supposed to be walking around in society in the first place.

Perhaps you should educate yourself on involuntary commitments, 72 hour holds, and other perfectly legal methods people can be committed quite easily.

Are you suggesting there was no basis for taking the FL shooter in for a closer look by the FBI? Keep in mind they already admitted screwing it up.

Perhaps you should post where the FBI is allowed to make involuntary commitments. Or maybe stop babbling about what you are incapable of comprehending.

Perhaps you should look up Florida's "Baker Act" passed in the 1970's.

Maybe you should post where that lets the FBI commit individuals.

Maybe you should post where the FBI would need to commit an individual when ANY law enforcement officer (perhaps during their 39 visits or maybe after he refused to go to mental health sessions? Just spitballing) in Florida can do it?

It's ok, you can admit you're wrong. It will take that burden off your chest.

Here is a link to the law. Please post where it allows the FBI to commit an individusl.

Can't give up ignoring the obvious huh?

Let's do this in the form of a theatrical event:

FBI agent: Hey, Florida police officer, we think this guy is going to shoot up a school

Florida police officer: Oh noes! By the power invested in me by Greyskull and the Baker Act, I hereby commit this jackass to a 72 hour involuntary hold!

Wow. That was hard to figure out.

Gave you the actual law. So sorry you can't actually read it and find where it supports your position. Could it actually be you have no clue about what you are talking about. Pathetic. Typical Republican that falls apart when it comes to actual facts but hey, for you a theatrical fiction might actually be a substitute that works for an intellect of your capability.

If you threaten to shoot up a school law enforcement should be able to confiscate your weapons. I'd agree with that.

My understanding of Florida law is that a state official could not commit someone without a court decision. And courts are clogged.

Does anyone really believe this is the only violent, mentally ill person with a gun in Florida? Or that the state will start taking many guns from people who have not commited a crime? I doubt it very much. The right to own guns is so basic here that they are not going to do that except in truly extreme cases.

Why doesn't FLDE or the local sheriff do their own tip line...
