Search for what in his house? Did he have anything illegal? When would they have taken his guns away?

Sure. Due Process happens everyday, but that's no guarantee they won't get their hands on another one. I routinely keep tabs on the local paper's crime blotter, and no less than 10 times a week do I see "convicted Florida felon in possession of firearm or ammo" beside the mugshot of a thug. which is irrefutable proof that criminals do not care about laws...gun laws, drug laws, laws against theft, fraud, rape, robbery or murder. the solution to crime and criminality is punishment...severe and brutal punishment. NOT revoking the rights of the innocent. NOT reducing the whole of society down to the lowest common denominator (as to 'better manage' us)

I answered your question now you answer mine

What would the obamabots at the FBI do if Cruz made threats against obama’s family?

They could have and should have obtained a surveillance warrant to keep close tabs on this guy. Face facts, they dropped the ball here and are admitting they did so. Why are you and others so intent on giving them a pass?

Good point. Why is a school full of children less important than Obama's family.

You didn't actually answer the question. He was innocent until he started killing. So should he have had his guns taken away as soon as it was reported that he wrote "professional school shooter". If he gets another gun then he has committed a crime and hence no longer innocent

Because liberals think of themselves as superior beings who are never wrong

I would not be surprised if Cruz had bomb making material at his home

Mass school shooters often play around with bombs too

You don't know that because there was no investigation. Given the FBI had tips, the local police had visited him 39 times, I suspect there were a few laws broken if one wanted to get technical.

    Apparently not.

PORT ST. LUCIE — A 14-year-old boy was taken into custody Friday in connection with a threat made on social media toward his middle school Tuesday, according to police.

The 14-year-old was charged with written threats to kill or do bodily injury. He was taken to the St. Lucie Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

He wouldn't have had any long guns before he was 18 years old.

Investigate. It sufficient evidence was found, a judge could issue a TRO.

I did answer the question....the important one; WHY ARE WE TOLD TO SAY SOMETHING WHEN WE SEE SOMETHING if our exalted betters in government have no legal means to do anything about it?

nevertheless, if Obama's letter agencies can get FISA warrants to surveil American citizens based on little more than salacious and unsubstantiated gossip, then SURELY these agencies can keep tabs on someone who's not only been reported as exhibiting threatening behavior, but publicly communicated a desire to be a 'professional school shooter' on their menacing, ISIS-like instagram account, replete with pictures of guns and knives.

You wrote this "so I don't think keeping tabs on this guy for as long as he's considered a threat would be out of hand. If that had occurred and he was stopped by the FBI as he approached the school with his weapon and extra magazines the FBI..."
Why would any dangerous unstable suspect be allowed to keep guns?

They shouldn't but that's another issue. Why are you so intent on diverting from the fact that the FBI ****ed up here?

Plus there is this. The FBI could have gone down this road.

    Federal Law
Under 18 U.S.C. § 922(d), it is unlawful for any person to sell or otherwise dispose of any firearm or ammunition to any person knowing or having reasonable cause to believe that such person “has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to any mental institution.”

There are posters in this forum that post pictures of their guns and knives in the "who has the most powerful weapons contest" and have stated that they will be killed while killing anyone who tries to take their guns away. When is a gun worth more than your life.

Attempt to detail thread noted. Proves you feel you are losing the debate. Repeat after me until you get it

Hardly derailing when there are posters in this small forum who have also made threats to kill - should they be investigated too? I presume that you are in favor of significantly increasing the FBI budget? Would be a lot cheaper to confiscate guns from those that are seen as a threat and also increase the time between registering to buy a gun to actually getting the gun. But no, many want their guns straight away just like this school murderer

had any been recently expelled from high school for carrying backpacks on campus after being expressly forbidden from carrying backpacks on campus due to a penchant for secreting weapons within?...were any wearing balaklavas while expressing a desire to become a 'professional school shooter' on their social media accounts?....or were they just exercising their 1st Amendment rights to be firearms enthusiasts while discussing things that many people talk about when the subject of rogue, tyrannical governments is broached?

more importantly, did you Say Something™?...or did you yourself not consider such a threat?
