Going only by what is on the video he was a fleeing suspect who then appeared to reach for a weapon that makes it a justified shooting if that is what actually transpired.

However there are way too many unknowns at this point in time to make a definitive call.

Allow the investigation to proceed and wait until all of the facts are available.

 

I watched the video. He reached for his gun. He also drove away after he was stopped by state troopers and crashed in the snow when he approached the road block. All of it was justified.

If a small boy can be shot and killed for holding a toy gun, AND not pointing at police officers, so can a guy, who was reportedly armed, try to reach for his pistol twice.

By FBIs commands or bullets? Where is the audio? Easy to lie about what happened without it.

 

If you were one of the police confronting him, well aware of what he had said previously, and that he we well known to be armed, would you have waited around to see what he pulled from his waistband or acted on the reasonable suspicion that he was armed, had previously refused to accede to police commands and was reaching for a weapon - most likely a gun - and then acted to protect your live than those around you? I've seen nothing so far that this wasn't a righteous act of self defense.

 

It is reasonable to belive from the video that two officers were giving conflicting commands and LaVoy was trying to respond to both. And at no time did the hand of LaVoy come in contact with anything but his coat and shirt. It is reasonable to believe the orders were much like they were for that LA Cop they caught in the cabin.They executed their orders to the tee.

 

Sir, these people broke into a Federal building and did some damage... Probably more than you realize, and you know what? You will help pay for the damage by your tax dollars. So, let's say, you are driving down a federal highway, and come to a Toll Booth that you must pay to travel on it. But, you decide you don't like the idea of paying, and you drive right through the tool booths. From behind you see two Highway Patrol Cars chasing you, but, you decide not to stop, and when they setup a road block and you don't remove yourself from the vehicle, they kindly ask you to exit the vehicle... you don't and from there these officers take for granted you become a threat.

Agreed need the audio, looks like one guy told him to drop any weapons and when he did he was shot by the guy behind him. That makes it murder.
Why would he put his hands up first and then reach for the gun as opposed to coming out with his gun already drawn.
And what was the reason they pulled him over?

Its obvious he had his hands up as he walked through the snow, then stumbled in the snow and reflexively brought his hands down, then brought his hands back up surrendering. At that point he starts twisting and moving oddly - I bet they were shooting at him and hitting him. Then he brings his hands down to his waist.

Looks like murder by cop. If they release the unedited video (with sound) from the cop cars, and reveal the time tag in the airborne video then we will know for sure.

The cops already lied once claiming he charged them. Then they release this one video which doesn't definitively answer the questions, but they don't release the other videos - very suspicious.

My bet is another innocent man murdered by cop.

Smells to me, that if this was black gangbangers who were stopped, led police on a high speed chase, and then jump out of a vehicle, armed, that the right wing would be cheering their deaths and claiming that the "thugs" got what they deserved.

Well, these guys did not give up, and they fought the police, and they got what they deserved.

If a black guy in a hoodie (I agree that is a suspicious look) reached inside of his sweater when dawn upon by police officers you guys would be SCREAMING that the shooting was justified.

The only thing that can change my mind here is if we get a sound clip and he is head saying something like "I am going for my wallett" or something similar, which because of the speed of it I HIGHLY doubt.

Have you ever had an officer draw a weapon on you and tell you to get on your knees, do the whole fingerlock thing and all that? I have, my car matched the description of an armed robber and I took the brunt of it.

IT IS TERRIFYING, you do not reach inside your pocket unless you are told.

 

Watching the video and reading the reactions of his friends and family leads me to believe the guy got exactly what he wanted, martyrdom for his cause.

His cause seems to be to support welfare cases who refuse to pay grazing fees and hence develop weird interpretations of the Constitution whereas they we get a ton fo free (*)(*)(*)(*), but really, is anyone reasonably expected to believe the guy was not reaching for a gun?

I couldn't see what he was reaching for and the guy that shot him from behind couldn't see what he was reaching for either.

Have we seen a gun that was known to belong to the dead man? Did the dead man have a record of shooting other people?
