There's an hourly escalating crisis every day in the MSM for which the squawking heads derisively demand an immediate and thoroughly investigated answer before midnight is struck.

No time in the city for a cupcake, no time for a little good news.

They truly believe they should be running the country, demand that they run the country.

Local news reported today about how farmers are terribly concerned about it all - many farmers stand to lose a great deal of money with others possibly going bankrupt.

But this should come as no surprise as farmers always lose when a Republican is in the White House. This whether it be Hoover, Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, and now under Trump.

Then it takes a Democrat to solve their problems. Soon thereafter, farmers get screwed again under Republicans who proceed to blame Democrats.

They will choose an alternate source, for food stuffs, animal feeds and plastics.

They will buy from countries that don't have trade barriers

Because China is the largest eport market for soy and corn for the US,the prices US agricultural products will be discounted by the cost of the tarriff. Lower prices for US farmers, or lose market share to other soy producers.

Which is what happens when you erect trade barriers.

But it will be good for U.S. consumers in the supermarkets. Keep prices low for consumers.

And here is what happens when you roll over and play dead:

    2017:
    US Export to China: $130B
    US Import from China: $505B
    BALANCE -$375B
For each dollar of US export they send us $4 worth of their junk

    Well done, Obama, Bush, Clinton...

It will keep prices low for US consumers in the supermarkets. Dint they been saying recently the low consumer prices is the 1st Commandment?

Do farmers deserve better treatment, preferred treatment, by the federal government than the men working in even higher heat in the steel mills?

I don't hardly think so. Finally the guys making the metals have gotten a little break.

Farmers can put a little more skin in the game.

If people really are concerned about the tit for tat that is going on, they should avoid the noise makers in the MSM who are simply fishing for website traffic, and look into the issue in depth.

There are trade numbers available. They should look at how much China allows to be imported versus how much it exports. China can't afford to be cut off from it's export channels. It's people are not capable of consuming all of it's own industrial output.

What people should also learn is how damaging China has been with their flagrant counterfeit industry, trademark and intellectual property fraud.

If people don't think the President is doing the right thing, how about proposing what they would do to address this problem.

You were the one claiming Chinese tariffs on US soybeans would be an issue for them, I said it would not be an issue....

The world is hungry and needs soybeans and other US farm goods

Cutting our dependence on china will be a positive for America on the long run

America is one of the biggest exporters of pork and China is a huge market for the pork industry because China buys more parts of the animal for consumption that Americans would just throw away so this is a huge hit to the pork industry.

    You mean potentially.

So how much of the total pork industry in the US is involved in exporting to China?

Given China's demand for pork has been decreasing prior to their threatened action, what impact could potential sanctions have?

Cheap goods are more important to them than the future of our country. Unfortunately the welfare of the nation is more important than their spending ability. It is sick.

The better assumption would be that the powerful in China want to maintain that power.

CHina has a lot more leeway to abuse its populace. They've been doing it forever. The US actually has a population that can fight back....assuming the govt doesn't take our guns away....right Democrats? The Chinese are literally helpless to defend themselves or push back against their govt. They have ZERO power, unless they storm the castles and rip their leaders apart limb from limb with their bare hands or pitchforks. =)

If the Venezuelans just wouldn't eat so much the supermarkets would be full -- instead of cobwebs and dust on the shelves.

That's happened before in history with the czars in Russia for instance and that's what the leaders in China fear most. All you really need for this scenario is the army to stand down and you have to remember the army in China is conscripts from the lower class that will not be happy about shooting their own relatives.

Indeed we have gotten ourselves in a bad position with Chinese goods and no American option. It's time to turn that around.

You guys are so inconsistent. It's ok to screw the entire country to save a few steel jobs but you don't give to shits about jobs on the farm. It must suck to have to defend this buffoon (assuming any of you are objective anymore).
