Greatly reduced debt won't happen in my life time! There will be deficit spending for years to come. And the next downturn will force another $5 trillion in stimulus debt. Americans are on the hook forever paying 100's of BILLION$ per year in debt interest payments...

Yes... just take a look at what President Lincoln accomplished in such a short time to get an idea on how this can be done.

President Lincoln saved taxpayers four billion dollars...how can we do this in 2013?

One method is to learn from the Worgl, Austria local money experiment, especially how it was replicated in a thousand communities in the USA during the Great Depression.

Unless President Trump hires a team who are capable of
making the possible connection between a more balanced budget
with an increase in certain types of real estate.

Since Americans who live in rural areas tend to support President Trump
he certainly has an incentive to attempt to take care of them in this way.

Could a real estate boom plus better Fed policy pay off USA national debt?

State and local governments are prohibited from deficit spending and mounting debt as SOP and since the federal government has no limits on deficit spending and debt, billion$ in federal dollars are funneled to state and local governments. I don't agree with this since the local governments should either tax appropriately or reduce their spending...two things most are unwilling to do...

Trump does not need to worry about anyone who supported him now that he has the pulpit! Trump will do what benefits Trump.

There are about 3.8 million square miles in the US and at least 3 million of them are rural...I live in a rural area...what can Trump possibly do to greatly increase the economy in every little Mayberry RFD?

If President Donald Trump were to go public and ask churches to do what I suggest in this
discussion....... many pastors, priests and nuns would back him up in this.

Large churches in democratic nations should print their own currencies.

I'm unaware of and unable to find any rule/regulation/law prohibiting States and/or local governments from deficit spending or debt accumulation. While I cannot confirm that there are or are not any local governments debt free and living totally within their means, each and every one of the 50 States spend beyond their means and carry growing debt just like the Federal government does.

Perhaps an amendment to the Constitution requiring ALL government budgets, Federal, State, and local be contained within the revenue collected? I remember a time back in the 70's when the State of Georgia passed its budget and then had to reconvene and adjust it based on the discovery that the total budget spending was less than the projected revenue which could have simply been applied to reducing the debt held.

It has been my opinion for many decades now that the three things done by our Federal government which have had the greatest detrimental effect occurred in 1913, and are the Federal Reserve Act, 16th amendment, and 17th amendment. Those three items together have led to the creation of a centralized command and control form of government, effectively nullifying the 10th amendment, redefined the intent and meaning of the words "all men are created equal" to fit a collectivist/socialist/communist agenda, with the governed having only the power to 'democratically' select who they feel will provide the most at the least cost to them.

Most cities cannot use debt to operate their governments. They can and will sell bonds, for example, to fund certain key projects and bonds would be considered debt. I've noticed billion$ being funneled from the federal government to local governments to help fund the operation of the local government...for example hiring teachers, police, fire personnel, etc. Some states have billion$ in supposed debt but many times it's the unfunded pension programs.

No amendment to anything can stop people from spending. Today there can be a million excuses why we MUST spend money we don't have! Americans do this with their credit debt.

    There are no 'collectivist/socialist/Communist agendas??

I saw a statement a few days ago that do seem to at least in part verify the statistic given in the opening post. I will try to find it.
