You mean other than the ones I already gave you, of course. The WHO and leftists everywhere don't want it to be called the Wuhan virus because they say it's racist. My question is why is there only one race in Wuhan. Sounds like a racist country, which, of course, it is severely.
I couldn't care less how they came to Covid19. I see you're ignorant as to what intelligence and ignorance are though. I displayed ignorance, you displayed Pelosi levels of smart with your attempt. The leftists at the WHO who I'm sure were well compensated to make sure it wasn't officially called the Wuhan virus.
I didn't care enough to find out, I just remember hearing that somewhere. I'm not one of those crying about it being called the Wuhan virus. I could care less what it's called, or why.
Dude - you're the one who doesn't even know why Covid-19 is named Covid-19 - Hell, you thought it was the 19th version, which is the same vacuous statement that KellyAnn Conway made.
“The leftists at the WHO who I'm sure were well compensated to make sure it wasn't officially called the Wuhan virus.“ This asinine statement needed to be highlighted for all to see. Figured it could provide a laugh for others.
You mean the people from the WHO who said calling it Covid19 was the goal because calling it the Wuhan virus was racist. Keep defending one of the most racist countries on the earth though, it's the leftist way. There is nothing "better" about calling it Covid19 or Wuhan virus. Neither name is better or worse than the other. It only is in your leftist imagination and world view.
Then that must have been where I heard it. And once again, leftists hyperventilate over why they want the Wuhan virus to be called Covid19. As I said, I don't care what it's called. You do, and the reason is obvious.
Presumably my dog isn't going to replicate and kill hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. Also, I don't have an emotional attachment to this virus. Do you? Is that why you don't want to call it Covid-19? Call it Spot if you want, just don't expect people to know what you're referring to. Do you dispute that there have been racist incidents in the time since the virus emerged, or that calling it the "Chinese coronavirus" could exacerbate the problem? You still haven't answered my original question, by the way. Why do you have a problem calling it Covid-19, which is its official name?
Go ahead and explain why that's important to you. I could give a **** why. That's why I put no effort into researching it.
You want me to believe that Chinese people were targeted because some virus was called the Wuhan virus? While you're at it, please explain why there's only one race of any majority in China. The bolded part for WHY it was called Covid19 by the WHO answers your question.
Oh so now it has to be the largest and most deadliest diseases in history huh? Well that certainly takes the Wuhan virus out of the equation, since it's killed fewer people globally than the flu.
I already answer that twice. Once with the Time article that gave the reasons the WHO gave it the name it did, then again above after I edited my post. As I said, I clearly don't care why they called it Covid19 because obviously I didn't even know why it was called Covid19. Clearly I couldn't care much about it if I didn't know how the name was developed, could I? The people with the problem are the ones saying calling it the "wuhan" virus is racist.
I wasn't clear with my question. It isn't about why health officials called it Covid-19. It seems like you, you personally, don't want to call it Covid-19. How do you refer to the virus? Do you call it the China virus? Do you call it the Wuhan virus? When you post here, or talk to your friends about it, which do you call it? If you don't call it Covid-19, why not?
I do what everyone else has done, including the leftist media. I use both interchangeably. Now answer my question. Why did the WHO say calling it the Wuhan virus, which is what everyone was calling it when it first come out, get changed to Covid19? What evidence do you have that calling it the Wuhan virus is racist? What evidence do you have that calling it the Wuhan virus causes some kind of racial oppression? Why do you ignore that China is one of the most racist countries on Earth?
Well you find someone today that doesn't know the meaning of China flu, get a picture! Because you have actually found a real life MORON
Like anyone actually cares other than leftists. I mean clearly I cared why the name was called Covid19 so much that I didn't even know the reason. If the virus had originated in Oslo they'd all be in here screaming about how the Oslo Virus was going to kill everyone.
Ya and almost every leftist and house hider swore it was the end of January LOLOL.. Soooo with that, it sort of shines a whole new light on how President Trump handled the U.S. being infected I don't know how man I argued that with "INCLUDING YOU" at length for day and weeks and literally 50 post where you were totally in denial that the virus was already in the U.S. and around the globe before the WHO finally warned the President at the END of January and into February But it was super refreshing seeing you have evolved and actually learned a few things over the last few months
I have been telling Daniel and the other for months what it meant and the relevance it had with the spread around the world.. But they were so fixated on Trump dragging his feet in Feb-March they were all but blind to the timelines Hilarious!
Why use any name other than the official one? I don't work for the WHO, so I don't know. I also don't really care. I don't think it is. I think calling it the China virus is a racist dog whistle, though. So I'm going to answer this and the next question as if you asked about "China virus." Since the virus has an official name, which is widely known, calling it something else would imply that there's an ulterior motive for not using the official name. I can't think of any other reason to call it the China virus other than out of ignorance, virtue signalling, or racism (or all three). I know that there have been racist incidents since the virus emerged, with the racists citing the virus as their justification. I know that words matter. Creating a subconsious, negative association between a country/ethnicity and a deadly virus is pretty racist. I don't, it just isn't relevant to this discussion.
I already answered that. It was called Wuhan virus by everyone, including the media, until they advanced the idea, without evidence, that there was some kind of racial connotation that led to targeting people of asian descent. It was a concerted effort by people to change it FROM Wuhan virus TO Covid19. Not the other way around. You seem to care since you're discussing it. Do you think China only having Chinese people in it is a racist dog whistle? If we called it the New York virus would that be racist? No? Why not? And no, calling it the Wuhan virus was what it was originally being referred to as by EVERYONE. You have not presented any evidence that calling it the Wuhan virus is any more racist than calling it the New York virus. Wuhan is a city, not a race. The "racist incidents" you refer to are people claiming people stopped eating at Chinese restaurants. People stopped eating at ALL restaurants as the virus progressed. That's why New York and SF were telling people "it's fine to attend mass rallies in Chinatown". Chinatown. Sounds racist.
