No, their invisible friend in the sky is one sick puppy, as he strikes innocent children down with the deadly disease (cancer) that he created. Sick, sick, sick. Not worth worshipping.

We both agree that taking on the terrorists by trying to destroy their religion is better than dropping bombs on them, in the long run at least.

A key part of Christianity is blaming evil, sinful humans for everything that is wrong with the world, and never our loving creator and savior.

and at the same time they are blaming the sinners, they are saying everything that happens is part of Gods plan, and happening exactly as he wants it too

Yep. I think that's one big reason there has been so much debate in religious circles about the issue of free will.

If there was any doubt that this is a flamebait thread, this post confirmed it.

It's all part of God's plan .... except when it isn't. And those occasions were planned. So god built in some naughty then later on he could pretend he didn't, so that he could pretend it upset him, and therefore have an excuse to punish us with ebola and starving children and russell brand.

I think Jesus was someone who mastered the use of his " chi ", what we call spiritual energy and is responsible for some unexplainable events, like someone who gets cured from cancer, or all of a sudden starts to walk again, while being paralized before. Surely he was someone very, very special, but to make a whole religion out of a gifted man, i find it exaggerated. I believe in the use of our inner power to the benefit of the people and the world, not in a god, nor in his supposed commands. I don't know if he could cure ebola, but i won't be much surprised if there is someone who can.

I wouldn't. Humanity needs a good thinning especially in the parts of the world that the thinning tends to occur. "Hey, I said no more floods. didn't say anything about plagues."

Jesus/Yeshua may not have even existed.

as for him having "powers", its a pretty silly idea.

if he did exist, he was just a man. an average dude.

Sinners will suffer until judgement day. Then those who are saved will suffer no more.

kinda like a God can't die, but Jesus was killed and pretended to be stuck in his dead body for 3 days before rising up from the dead body he was stuck in, makes for a cool story, but when you think about it.... makes God seem less all powerfull

As I read through this I can't help but to laugh...."God is a fairytale", "Jesus is immoral", "He's as real as x-men", "just an average dude", "one sick puppy...not worth worshiping", "mean, jealous, vengeful", oh and lets not forget "Jesus must have been gay".

We kick Him out of our schools, our government, our houses and our holidays,

And you wonder why He doesn't do more to help us? LOL you all just answered your own question...you get what you ask for.

yeah, because he was doing SO much for mankind before people started wising up to the old con (ie, the past century, if that). wonderful wars, benevolent plagues, fabulous famines, excellent human rights abuses, and so on.

as for the criticisms you quoted ... the source of all of them is the Christian bible. the op did what is commonly known as call a spade a spade.

The main point is that if Jesus was God and did in fact die for three days it just shows that God isn't necessary for the universe to function. There's no record of anything out of the ordinary when Jesus was dead for those three days. Everything continued just as it had always been. The universe didn't collapse. So it doesn't matter if God lives or if he dies.

if God can get stuck in a dead human body for 3 days, wonder where else he could get stuck in the universe, maybe the reason he hasn't been around is he got himself stuck somewhere else and can't escape

Christians been mistaking their God for an all-powerful God, when the getting stuck in a dead human body for 3 days, shows that is not true

But if Jesus was as moral as you are, Phoebe, he'd of course create/give us the cure. I'm sure you would if you had that ability? If so, you're far far more moral than that zombie is.

If that zombie can listen to everybody's thoughts 2000 years after he died (as they claim), then he can obviously cure ebola. That would be a walk in the park for someone with that ability.

If you are right (I think you are), then about 25% of all humanity, due to only one religion, are completely delusional, as no one hears them when they talk to an invisible man in the sky, their overall belief system is a complete lie, no zombie will return to give them everlasting life like they are fully counting on...completely delusional.

Too bad he's not all-powerful or he could prove himself to most all non-believers (snap his fingers...and an all-powerful being would of course KNOW what it would take for each and every non-beleiver to believe he was real), instead of having them have to rely on a story that is arguably less believable than even most children's fairy tales.
