Getting cheap healthcare in a poor country is not exactly a measure of success, as Cuba proves. Just as enduring expensive health care in a rich country is not a measure of success either, as the US proves.

Neither the US or Cuba are even in the top 20 when it comes to life expectancy. That's because health, IMO, isn't so much dependent upon what others do for us, but what we do for ourselves. Some of the following countries are small, and some have probably never even heard of them before, but they have been identified as the countries with the longest life expectancy:

    1. Monaco, 2. Macau, 3. San Marino, 4. Andorro, 5. Japan, 6. Guernsey, 7. Singapore, 8. Hong Kong, 9. Australia, 10. Italy, 11. Jersey, 12. Canada, 13. France, 14. Spain, 15. Switzerland, 16. Sweden, 17. Israel, 18. Iceland, 19. Anguilla, 20. Bermuda.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/who-lives-longest-cias-top-20-nations-for-life-expectancy/2/

I would argue that most if not all of these countries obtain their long life expectancy by the lifestyles they lead, not by the healthcare they receive, or the method by which they receive it.

And I would argue socialized medicine plays a big part in their life expectancy. How many don't have socialized medicine?

I assume you have a governor, so get him on the phone and let him know that the residents of your state will be able to stay alive longer if he (or she) will set up some form of statewide socialized medicine scheme.

    Good luck!

OK it is declared a right tomorrow, what would be manifestly different then? I think you guys are trying to intimate that if it is a right then government had to provide it which of course is total nonsense. Government is not mandated to provide you with your rights.

Nope, sorry. It's not happening, so if you're holding out for that, you'll just die a few years younger.

    No sweat off my sack.

The local board of health will commit them to a contagious disease ward even if they refuse to go.

keep on dreamin'. It ain't happening, but you can keep on dreaming the dream.

edit: I would add that since you're just dreaming, you're not really serious about it. It's just virtue signalling. You have no game plan, other than hoping that the country becomes some socialist/communist hell hole, and then maybe... maybe...

Your game plan is a pipe dream.

Or they don't have to fund it, or they can without it being declared a "right". That has nothing to do with anything and education is a local matter anyway we are discussing the federal government here.

Honestly, I don't blame you. It's just that you're obviously giving up on the economic idea because if it works fo the nation, then it'll work for the state. If it works for the state, it works for the city.

You gave up on that far too easily, so thanks for admitting that it's not economically feasible. We both know that getting things done at the municipal level is far easier than getting it done at the national level, so thanks for conceding.

Or they can fund it like every city, town and county does in this country for education.

Uh, yeah. Cuba pays $1 for every $10 paid in the US; and
That has nothing to do with the cost of living in Cuba since no Cuban citizen pays anything for healthcare. It's nationalized as opposed to the US where it's corporatized.

You don't know what an argument is. An argument consists of statements/premises. and a conclusion based upon those statements/premises.

I thought monty python had alread covered this, but I guess not...

Government regulations caused the price of the epipen to explode.

    http://www.ncpa.org/pub/how-federal-regulations-hiked-epipen-prices

You don't understand this topic, because you do not understand how the free market prevents exactly what the Government in its stupidity caused.
