So you think everyone that advocates fiscal responsibility supports "defunding the police"?

I have consistently brought up cost issues. I did it in the past with "Build back Better". I listed the top 10 expenditures of the bill and asked for rationalization for why the federal government should be involved in that spending. I was vocal against the covid stimulus checks. I have always been against increase taxation to fund the ponzi scheme SS system. I was against the subsidies to farmers that exported their goods due the China trade war. I do not support in anyway forgiving current student loans because of the cost. There are so many more...

BUT you are right I do not blindly just take a position against spending. I support the aid to Ukraine. I also support foreign aid spending in order to maintain America's leverage in the world. I have spoken about this in the past that we cannot let China take the lead here. Even though I am against forgiving student debts I have always said I am open to the idea of free higher level education. I have even conceded that I believe sometime in the future some form of UBI may be necessary but I have constantly said I do not think we have reached that point yet. So yeah, I am not close minded. I am open to new ideas and willing to consider new ideas and ways of doing things. My entire career is based on finding new, more efficient ways of doing things.

LOL you mean the states that everyone is moving to? All those people flying out of "blue" states are going to those "red" states that nobody wants to live in? Wake up dude. Your side has lost, democrat policies are being rejected en masse, all democrats can do is stal elections and use violence to subdue people.

Why do you support the aid to Ukraine? Is that better spent than on SS and Medicare?

Again I do not want to hijack the thread and start talking about SS or foreign aid but if you look to my old posts I have made it clear about my views regarding foreign spending. In a nutshell I believe America's foreign aid and things like the Marshall plan is what led to American dominance in the world. It allowed us to gain respect, develop strong allies and relationships. The rest of the world looked up to America. I believe China tries to imitate that success with their foreign policy. That is why they spend so heavily in Africa and the Middle east. It is not because they are trying to nice or charitable. They are building relationships, dependencies and networks both commercial and diplomatic.

Agreed. I support, among other things, corporal punishment.

What do you think would cause a better reaction:
    1) You are caught vandalizing private property for fun. The idea of spending $40k a year to incarcerate you for any substantial time seems wasteful and excessive so no real response is made. Maybe, after being caught, you have to pay a fine. If your parent's are rich, no big deal.
    or
    2) They give you 3 strokes of a cane and warn next time, it will be more.

Ok, forget SS, why do you support aid to Ukraine?

    Why are crimes committed?
Stop the reasons one commits crimes, could stop most of the crimes.

So if one sees someone speeding, shoot em, that ends the crime.
So if one drinks and gets behind the wheel of a vehicle, someone should shoot them, stop the crime before it happens.

That will save a lot of money, not needing cops or the criminal justice system anymore

LOL, you only want to lock up criminals you don't agree with, but those who are likely republican, you want to let roam free.

    trespassing isn't illegal?
On federal property, during a time when congress is in process of doing the country's business.

I noticed a trend here on how tough to get on crime.
Only to those who are not crimes committed by RWers.

Back in the Leave it to Beaver days or before.

    Do tell.

I did say I did not want to hijack the thread and start making it about SS OR Foreign aid. I did outlined briefly the basic principle on why I believe strategic foreign expenditures are important.

What black politicians do you refer to from the 1950s?

Maybe you need to give better clues.

Yes, I've always felt that 'pull yourself up by the bootstraps', while fine for those with a normal supportive upbringing in the US, can be a leap too large for some. Deteriorating mental health and a tendency towards crime seem to be the result.

Many people do it without that 'supportive upbringing'. The term, after all, is 'pull YOURSELF up'.

It means to be born without advantage, but not letting that stand in your way. Many refugees, migrants, and ordinary poor citizens have done just that. In the case of a lot of refugees and migrants, they're not only lacking family support, but often also lack language and education. Yet they can and do, pull themselves up by the bootstraps.

I'm curious to know your motive, in making excuses? Do you have a specific goal in mind? Perhaps to pave the way for those bent on exploitation?

That's up to those who want to increase the tax burden on all of the country to figure out.

I thought this kind of topic is up your ally? You don't know the reasons for crimes?
No wonder we can't end crime.
