The original Americans, like myself, all had long hair...

 

I saw him perform back around 1980 and he just did his show but that was at a time when his music was still relevant.I was even able to get back stage and meet him. His politics seem to be his focus now. In my opinion he had a few good tracks 40 years ago.

I generally agree but, I have a ponytail and own my own business. I am conservative and consider myself anti-establishment as I have always been. I have not changed, the government has, and not for the better.

 

If you interact with customers in your business, you most likely know the appropriate way to present yourself. Owning your own business means that you are responsible for the success or lack of success.

You must have been the only one. I surfed those same beaches along with every other beach from Doheney to Rincon starting in '67 and never met too many conservatives....County Line used to be a place where we could turn it into an all night paradise of sex drugs, rock and roll and huge Bon Fires. Now thanks to these conservative law and order types, there would be helicopters and a swat team there before the party even got started.

I'm not sure about the correlation between communism and long hair, but long hair on men doesn't fly in the military or in corporate aviation, i.e. airlines.

Most of the guys I grew up with who turned into conservatives were draft dodgers and semi hippies who became conservatives after the war was over and they got jobs at Lockheed in Burbank, then went on to work at Skunkworks in Palmdale. Some are still freinds but they are anything but smarter or less naive. They just seem to be self serving, judgemental and hypocritical. One very good freind of mine completely changed as a result of Rush Limbaugh blaring in his ear all day while working at the formerly mentioned defense plant. Now that has been retired for a few years, he seems to be rediscovering himself. Cheers

That may well be true, but how do you explain the huge youth movement for Bernie Sanders? One thing for sure is that we certainly live in interesting times. I am really not concerned about whether someone with liberal or conservative tendencies gets elected. I am more interested in having a person who knows how to accomplish things that will be good for our country and a congress that will help achieve these goals. To be honest, I do not really know which of the two probable candidates is more liberal at this point. I also believe that either one of them could be one of our greatest presidents or a complete disaster.
