Yes, but they are 0.000000001% of the American population.

Yes they are dangerous however, they are readily identifiable & a miniscule portion of the population. None of them try to hide their radical views/radical appearances and surreptitiously gain governmental power like the radical libbies who also seek to undermine American families and propagandize our children through public education. No, libbies are much more dangerous.

Couldn't agree more. Leave politics to the songwriting.

    I have long hair.

If it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for me.

I'm heavily anti-extremist on all sides, but I don't see anyone trying to undermine families. As both sides have always been fairly equally represented, it's obvious that schools are not indoctrinating children toward liberalism. These seem to be rightwing talking points that have grown old and tired. The biggest threat to families are drugs, alcohol and a poor economy. Both sides have done a lousy job at addressing these issues.

That's not how I see it. Anyone who chooses a political side, almost by definition, is naïve. They may be smart in certain areas, but how smart is it to surrender your thoughts and opinions to dogma? Independents are smarter and less naïve then both of you. I miss the days when both parties had their fair share liberals, conservatives and moderates. Things actually got done. As polarized as the parties have become, the only hope for action is complete one party rule; something I do not think would be beneficial. I sure miss Dick Bryan. Conservative Democrat governor of NV in the '80s, and senator in the '90s. Conservative Democrats and moderate/liberal Republicans seem to have gone extinct.

Lol. It's one or the other, Sundance. Either the longhaired antichristian, communist Jesus, or the godly anticommunist Lenin. You did read the OP?

Jim Webb is a conservative Democrat that I would a 1000 times vote for over any establishment Republican.

Lol. I haven't cut my hair since my job at the time required it: 1993. And I'm an independent with both liberal and conservative leanings (according to partisans, anyway. I'm me. I lean towards myself)

    Antichristian and communist Jesus.

We're on the same page then. Sadly, it's difficult to win an election nowadays without kowtowing to the ideological extremes. A Republican is expected to be pro-life, even though Roe v Wade is settled law. A Democrat is expected to be a gun grabber, even though the 2nd Amendment isn't going anywhere. It's our own fault. We've succumbed to the 24 hour politics-as-entertainment meme.

If you haven't cut your hair since 1993, it must be pretty damn long

Jesus looks like Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys circa the 1970s, loves Ronald Reagan, and owns several guns. He also owns a vintage Jaguar E-type and a 1965 Corvette, but he prefers to drive his lifted Ford F-250 4x4, which is white.

He also has a German Shepard named Moses, who rides in the back of the truck.

It's long alright, but it hasn't grown at all since reaching it's current length, which happened probably a few years after I last cut it. I must be a freak.

Lol. Didn't much like Reagan, have guns of my own, a chick car (2000 Sebring convertible) and a gorgeous 2013 FLHTK anniversary edition. I prefer the Harley, but I love saying "I don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*)" when people inform me that I drive a chick car.

I have a cat named Taz who does whatever she wants.

Yeah, there are too many factions you have to please.

I think GOP candidates should take my position on abortion; say they hate the idea, and that it is a human being from conception, but will leave it up to the individual woman to decide.

The super religious will go with that if they say they dislike abortion enough.

    They're going for Trump.

Jesus would certainly ride a Harley, and probably owns a few, and I think he'd think Taz was a pretty cool name for a cat.

But if it was one of those fluffy Persian cats, Jesus would think it was gay and leave it in a field somewhere.

    I'm going to hell.

This may be a winning strategy, but I think it's part of the problem. Telling people what they want to hear is not the answer in my opinion. I think we need politicians on both sides who have the guts to tell us to get beyond these going-nowhere issues. Sometimes, the public needs to be told to "get over it," but no one has the cojones to do so.

I have a Calico cat, too. It was given to me, and at first I thought "hmmm, a cat, how boring", but I've since become quite attached to the little thing.

No (*)(*)(*)(*). Mine was given to me as well, in 1999. Damn, that was a long time ago. Cats are great pets. I love dogs too, but ended up with a cat. Cats may be a little more boring than dogs, but in many ways, that's a good thing. They're also more self-sufficient, which is a very good thing.
