Israel is tiny, Israel is outnumbered 75:1, Israel is surrounded by 22 enemy states... Israel is besieged by any definition. Being besieged and armed are not mutually exclusive, Israel is both, if Israel was not armed and powerful it wouldn't be besieged now, it would have long been defunct. Duh :(

Are the Brits planning to colonize Syria or Iraq and expel the natives?

    - - - Updated - - -

The European Jews knew that when they migrated to Palestine.

Britain ruled a massive empire that crossed oceans and continents. It's a small island at the corner of the world.

Israel is surrounded, but no one is beseiging it. No one would dare. The US has made it plain that any who threaten Israel's existence would face the full military power of the US- which is the unspoken threat of nuclear retaliation.

Also, how is one state surrounded by 22 enemy states? Is that geographically possible or is that hyperbole?

Israel earned its right to become a nation in the modern world unlike the 'still not a nation' Palestine. The hypocrisy reeks from every pore of those that live in a country that won to place their borders where they want etc by WAR but turn around and attempt to demonize Israel FOR THE SAME THING! (sorry to my christian friends for the strong words. It is past time for no more Mr Nice Guy. Lol really~! Personally speaking I have run out of cheeks to turn for a few select hater instigators of the troll species. I attempt obey all scripture but this this bit of scripture is currently relevant ; Psalm 144:1 ESV Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle.

Might that not indicate that Britain was a conqueror while Israel is not.

Personally I mourn the Jewish people that are going to suffer at the hands of the same demons who orchestrated the holocaust. It should be obvious to anyone with a brain what is going on. What is it ? It is the demonizing of the Jewish people using the same methods that were used in pre WW2 to desensitize the worlds people before they built the engines of slaughter. So yes its going to happen again, but this time not only will those that hate Israel and the Jewish people pay the ultimate price just as Hitler and his Nazi subhuman monsters, so will today's supporters instigators and perps. The trouble is they will also start WW3 in the process.

So? Its the human condition, it doesn't matter where it happens. Anyone being stupid enough to go into the deep south or up north to Harlem and yell pro white narratives etc or go down in the south and insult southern traditions and such things even if they are good or bad one it doesn't matter, either person will be severely chastised, thumped, mished and mashed or worse! Lets not get involved in the details, I am making a simple point. If you go looking for a fight anywhere you can find one. The Palestinians and their terrorist friends are doing just that. Instead of negotiation they use terrorism and other lesser tactics such as the last UN action they (the Pals) do a end run around the negotiation table and settle for a 'guest slot'. This enraged many former Pal friendly secular Israelis. It seems that not only are they fighting a war based (covertly) on region which they will lose, they are also fighting a war based on secular concerns, again which they will LOSE, and the world will lose as well. Unless the vermin are exterminated before the infestation goes too far.

Well, exactly. Israel isn't Britain, Israel is not an island, it's not running an empire half the world away, Israel's enemies are right there in Israel's backyard, 22 hostile Arab states (never mind hostile non-Arab Muslim states like Iran) surrounding Israel, bent on its annihilation, waiting patiently for any sign of weakness to strike a mortal blow.

PS Israel was on its own in all its past wars and there is not a shred of evidence that the future will be different, why do you think Israel is not a NATO member and have no mutual defense pact with the US? It's because your claim of US commitment to Israel's defense is baseless and patently wrong.

PS2 the US did have a legal commitment to Ukraine's territorial integrity though, as things stand, the commitment is totally worthless, isn't it?

Israel is a conqueror. It just hasn't conquered as much as Britain, yet. But the point was, Britain was not always a conqueror either. It was a small island on the edge of the world facing it's own pretty crippling problems. Size doesn't matter.

    Israel...not Jewish people.

You've completely left out all of Israel's crimes and focused merely on Palestinian reactions to them. You're view is one-sided.

I mean..."vermin"? If people talked to me like that, i would not expect fair play either.

Britain has the ocean as it's natural defense. Israel had, first, Britain, and then the US as its defense. Two of the greatest world powers of the modern world.

The US has provided around 50 billion dollars economic and military aid to Israel, and provided constant diplomatic support since about 1950.

Other than that, the US's stand with Israel is reiterated at almost every AIPAC meeting there is where various government officials come down, personally, and repeat their dedication and loyalty to Israel, forever.

    You're not dealing with reality.

    Who mentioned the Ukraine?

    1. Israel returned 99% of the land it conquered in defensive wars... some conqueror.

    2. Israel is not a NATO member and have no mutual defense pact with the US or any other nation. All else is lip-service, nothing more and even that lipservice never went as far as making a commitment to defend Israel militarily.

    3. I mentioned Ukraine because even when the US made a commitment, it didn't honor it.

    4. You are fully entitled to your opinions, now try to deny FACTS above.

You casually talk about the destruction of a country - not the ppl living in it I know - just their homes and lives as they know it, tradtionally a cause for war by any country in the world,

Perhaps you ment the current Right wingers that led the country for the past 12 years~, perhaps you mean the concept of there ever be an Israel, I and many others in Israel can relate to the first notion but we will probebly fight to the death - as our parents and their parents did - on the other.

No it didn't. At this moment, Israel maintains illegal settlements in Palestinian territory.

Israel has already received money and weapons from the US. It already receives diplomatic aid from the US. It's not just lip-service.

This is not relevant to Israel.

    You haven't expressed any facts.

Which is one of histories greatest tragedies. Just like the American's in America or the British in Australia, imperialists come in and sweep aside the natives, claim the land, and then use the virtue of self-defense to make it seem like trying to get it back is a monstrous attack on innocent life. I don't believe either one of those or Israel will ever give back the land they took, which is so sorry in my opinion. But I'm sure they'll go on piping about freedom and self-determination, slurping on other peoples things as usual.

False... Israel my dear and for your information Israel is its own realm and thus has control over its own territory, if an Arab squatter complains well it is only clear that he has to choose another Muslim Paradise with 72 virgins and boys like pears. Don't you think so? Ah I forgot that you do not consider Israel the <Land of the Jews>...

Good, now you sound almost reasonable, Israel is not a conqueror nation given that they returned 99% of the land they conquered in defensive wars. Even if they still hold on to 1%, that's not what conquerors do and your comparison of Israel with the British empire was utterly absurd.

The US indeed assists Israel financially, politically and with military equipment... Your prior claim that the US is committed to nuking Israel's enemies was on the other hand baseless and ridiculous.

Ukraine may not be relevant to Israel but it's relevant to the US's ability to keep their commitments and is thus completely relevant to your claims that the US will defend Israel militarily.

Going forward you would do us all and yourself a favor if you could stick to facts and reasonable assertions, your baseless outlandish claims won't fool anyone anyway.

For one, if your familiar with the partician plan, look at it. All the land taken afterwards was kept by Israel. Some land was given back. And after this, Israel continues to illegally occupy land with illegal settlements.

Second, you didn't read the post I was replying to. I wasn't comparing Israel to the British Empire. I was responding to someone who was suggesting that Israel is small and "beseiged" and, consequently, worthy of sympathy and/or admiration and not scrutiny. My point was that Britain was just a small island, itself, plagued by internal and external troubles. The French...the Spanish...the Dutch...these were pretty considerable troubles for the British. However, this small island got the upper hand on everyone and became not only a world power, but the greatest empire to date.

Basically, I said that size doesn't matter. Even so, they have the US backing them. They are far from alone.

    Barack Obama said as much.

So did many other officials. Look for AIPAC videos, or just type in Hillary, John Kerry, Biden, McCain, Romney, or whomever They all express the same sentiment. And the history of US support to Israel is undeniable.

How much money and weapons has the US given the Ukraine? How many times has the US shielded the Ukraine from international sanction or vetoed any punitive measures or investigations taken against Ukraine in response to various crimes and human rights violations? Is the relationship between the US and the Ukraine comparable to the of Israel?

What baseless and outlandish claims have I spoken?

Not only I read that post suggesting that Israel is tiny and besieged, I wrote it LOL

Your comparison of Israel to the British Empire is beyond ridiculous. For starters the British territory is 12 times bigger than Israel's, it's an island naturally protected by the sea from its enemies, Britain waged colonial wars half the world away against peoples who were no threat to Britain and who in their wildest dreams did not plan to wipe Britain off the map.

What exactly does it have in common with Israel, which is tiny, occupying 0.15% of regional land, outnumbered 75:1 (not against some remote australian or african tribes but against pretty sofisticated oil-rich next-door neighbors), surrounded by sworn enemies committed to its annihilation, Israel wages defensive wars and then returns 99% of the land it captures back.

    So f*ing similar, isn't it?

It most certainly isn't. The US signed a treaty with Ukraine committing itself to Ukraine's territorial integrity. No such treaty exists between the US and Israel and the US did not live up to its commitment to Ukraine either, which makes your prior claim that the US is prepared to nuke Israel's enemies patently baseless, false and unrealistic.

PS The country is called Ukraine, not 'the Ukraine'.

You're misunderstanding the purpose behind what I wrote. It isn't to make a hair-for-hair comparison of Britain to Israel. It is to say that the size of Israel provides no accurate reflection of their power or capabilities. You use the size of the land of the nations surrounding Israel as a measure of the threat to Israel, which would be inaccurate and uninformed.

Well, for one, it's not me saying the US is going to come to Israel's aid, it's various people in the government. I posted a clip of one government officials saying this, but you could find plenty more. The history provides the base for this assumption that in the future the US will defend Israel, should someone threaten it's existence. It's the future, so you could say any sort of projection on any action in the future is false until it is realized, but it has merit based on the history between the countries. It's certainly not "unrealistic".

    Apologies.

Israel earned their right to be a sovereign nation, by war and negotiation, and do as they please within their own borders. You are correct. However, God sat Israels boundary stones and they are still not back to the original places. But you must be must specific and say exactly what you mean, there are several references to boundary stones in the bible.

They were peacekeepers, not soldiers, they were there to separate the warring parties and make sure that the armistice holds and the Egyptian part of the border demilitarized.

Israel agreed to having peacekeepers there, so did Egypt and both countries together with the UN agreed to where they were going to be located, your previous claim that Israel didn't agree to peacekeepers is pure malicious fabrication.
