And Mrs. Obama had no choice but to play her role. If Vannie doesn't like it, she doesn't have to do anything for the administration. She has the choice of living an entirely private life. As far as what you are trying to say about a double standard: again, Vannie has a role in the presidency because she works for her father's administration, like anyone else on his staff. She is an advisor and his representative around the world. But she has a choice: if she doesn't want to be criticised, she doesn't have to do it. She can lead a private life. The first lady does not have that choice. Your idea of a double standard doesn't have any meaning on that level and it has even less on the issue of the kind of attacks being made on Vannie. They are not anywhere near the cruelty, viciousness, ugliness, lying, just below anything decent that were leveled at Mrs. Obama on a daily basis.
