Of course many parts of CA have a high cost of living. The point is ATC's are highly compensated. One of the highest group of all Federal Employee's. They also get a cost of living differential, excellent benefits and a great pension. Many qualified vets would give both nuts to land a job as an ATC anywhere in the country. If a person can't manage their finances well enough to not live pay check to pay check even at an ATC's base salary, they have no business being in a control tower.

Sure, but I think more people would believe that particular idea if there was as much effort to stop that stuff from the places it comes from in Majority, then simply focusing on one thing like a wall.
It's not the individual idea of a wall (for me anyway), the unyielding and myopic focus on that one single thing without any incorporation of any other avenues. LIke, put forth a bill that funds a wall, funds more enforcement of VISA overstays, enforce E-VErify on all employers in the US, etc..etc.. and then I think you'd have an argument for support.

I agree, but the dems will never support anything close to what you are suggesting. Case and point: sanctuary cities. They have no intention of enforcing any current or future immigration laws.

The Dems will hold the line when it comes to a border wall if for no other reason than to not agree with Trump. It is their best shot at defeating him in 2020.

The RW must be really afraid of Harris if they freak out (and start multiple threads) every time that she shakes her head.

 

I don't feel stupid at this moment, do you? I've been hearing every POTUS I can remember promising to do away with the cartels, the apparent subject of this thread.

Likely several POTUS have kissed the ring of Israel regarding Jerusalem as capitol, but only one has done it, the present occupant of the WH.
