You seem to be being deliberately stupid, what you can't eliminate, you minimize, yet like dogmatic zealots, Democrats are fighting tooth and nail against securing the vast unsecured open areas between our legal entry points. Some think they are in the pay of the Drug Cartels that control the illegal sex trafficking trade over our unsecured border.
Well thank goodness you are finally on board!

    Good for you!

Okay, so now we're going to act like the words used by the person on stage was not to put the traffickers completely out of business.. and we're going to continue to pretend that being pragmatic on such a notion means you must be against reducing trafficking.

We're also going to ignore everything about how points of entry are used by traffickers, so we can pretend the policy being proposed will be effective

In the face of mass rape you are claiming that it's better to allow it continue if you can't eliminate 100% of it?

Clearly you don't view these poor brown raped women as your sisters, mothers, aunts, daughters or cousins.

You are arguing that you can't eliminate all of it, but even stipulating that, why are you against eliminating any part of it?

I absolutely never said that. You are only further demonstrating what I described, and that is the idea that if someone thinks pragmatically on these government policies and the faulty description that they will eliminate all human and drug trafficking, then that it must be because they are in favor of said trafficking, and against reducing it in any way. It's not rational, if we applied this logic considerately then we would be made to pass every government policy ever proposed. It's like saying anyone who thinks pragmatically on gun control must be against reducing school shootings.

We don't judge government policies based on their intentions alone, the rational thing to do is to look into how effective the policy would actually be if passed.

    Not so fast.

Massive Numbers of women illegally crossing our border are raped during the illegal crossing of Northern Mexico.

Are you claiming that we have no power to reduce the traffic on these illegal rape routes?

I'm saying given what we know about 2/3rds of human trafficking victims being US citizens, and the majority of victims who are foreign born being brought into the country on visas, a policy which emphasizes on structures between the points of entry will not be effective, and it certainly won't put the traffickers completely out of business.

When between one and two of every three women illegally entering the country are raped during the transit, why are you against preventing ANY of these rapes?

Because it doesn't reduce those numbers, the number you are referring to is a statistic on women from central america, like the ones in the migrant caravans

These caravans have not crossed into the country between the points of entry. Most of them settle in Mexico, and the ones who have sought asylum in the US approached from the point of entry. They are assaulted in central America, and they attempt to come to the US seeking sanctuary from the violence they live through at home. Again, emphasizing on areas between the points of entry fails to understand where the heart of the issue persists

Of couse it does, there is no point in making the illegal crossing if you can't enter.
This is a study of those who enter, not the ones who settle in Mexico

80% Of Central American Women, Girls Are Raped Crossing Into The U.S.

According to a stunning Fusion investigation, 80 percent of women and girls crossing into the U.S. by way of Mexico are raped during their journey. That’s up from a previous estimate of 60 percent, according to an Amnesty International report.

Would you care more if it were White Women getting raped?

Again, you’re completely ignoring the fact that these people did not approach the US between points of entry. More than this, you are completely ignoring the necessity of providing sanctuary for these people.

    Via your own link

Something you need to understand is these numbers are based on interviews of people in the caravans, and these interviews took place in the area of La Arrocera, NOT the US border, but the south end of Mexico.

A policy which focuses on areas between points of entry at the US border does not prevent these assaults from occurring.. obviously.. or rather, it should be obvious

They're raped in Mexico on their way to the U.S. If they had stayed in Central America, they would not have been raped.

The solution isn't stopping the caravans at the U.S./Mexico border. The solution is to never have caravans at all.

It rather makes one wonder how this country has thrived and survived without a wall for all these years.....

If it is so important and critical, how have we come this far without it?

Not every problem a nation faces has always been a problem. Problems arise sometimes and then you deal with it. Pretty simple really. Illegal immigration is a huge problem now so we need to deal with it now. Unfortunately the left would rather use this problem to make political gains. They're putting political power ahead of american citizens.

It is not a persuasive argument to claim that immigrants without a piece of government paper are safer than those with a government paper.

Your bringing up problems we face as a nation is a good bit of input, very relevant.

I say that whether or not any particular human is in possession of a government document IS NOT one of the problems we need to address. There are other more important issues that ARE problems we need to address.

Perhaps she sees through Trump's ignorant statements. There will never be an end to the drug cartels as long as there is such a huge market for that product in this country. Hate on the Mexicans all you want, but they're simply supplying a demand. We are the demand. We are the ones with the drug problem. Until we admit that and stop buying their drugs, no simplistic notion of a wall or barrier is going to stop the cartels from doing business with us.

The various drug cartels exist ONLY because we keep our asinine policy of prohibition intact.

The smugglers of the CIA also enjoy that.

How long have you been aware that 80% of the women illegally entering over our Southern Border are raped in the process? If these were White Women, you would be for shutting down these illegal Rape Routes, but since the merely Brown Women, Democrats are fine with the mass rape if that's what it takes to get their maids and housekeepers here to undercut the wages of those here legally.

And when the jobs go to higher-wage US citizens, the costs of businesses go up as well. History suggests that we'll go with lower prices. Is there some kind of medium?

Who did the estimating and on what is it based? I've seen so many statistics about this whole immigrant mess that I have to wonder if anyone really cares that the numbers could be total fabrications to express a point of view.

My question is why is the Republican so determined to vilify immigrants?

It's hyperlinked, I'm sure your clicker works. Why is the Left so against doing anything to even reduce the mass rape of the women illegally crossing our border?

You made up the fact that women are only raped if they attempt entry at the legal entry points. It's your fabrication, my only job is to point out that you made it up.
Another fabrication. We should do everything in our power to keep these folks from crossing Northern Mexico. We have 11 consulates in Southern Mexico, which, unlike Northern Mexico that is controlled by Drug Cartels. All claims for sanctuary should be made from the consulates, keeping these women off these rape routes.
A policy that stops illegal entry reduces illegal traffic, which is perfectly obvious to anyone.

I've read the articles and followed it to Fusion, where the original claim came from. These numbers are not supported by anything other than guess work and some specious phrasings. I'm not saying it doesn't happen or even that the number is wrong, but blind acceptance of such claims is not good. From what I'm seeing, what started out as an attempt to generate concern for certain immigrant shelters is being used to support the monster myth of those crossing the border. The article and several others go on to mention that some of the women use sex to get what they need. My point being that I see nothing to indicate that the number is in some way accurate.

There is a LOT of rape occurring in these illegal trafficking routes over our Southern Border.

According to a stunning Fusion investigation, 80 percent of women and girls crossing into the U.S. by way of Mexico are raped during their journey.

That’s up from a previous estimate of 60 percent, according to an Amnesty International report.

This year alone, immigration authorities expect more than 70,000 unaccompanied minors to come through the United States unlawfully, the majority of whom are from Central American countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. The number of unaccompanied Central American girls caught at the Southwest border has rapidly outpaced the number boys, according to a July Pew Research study.

Through May, the number of unaccompanied girls younger than 18 caught at the US-Mexico border increased by 77 percent.

It's long past time to end the illegal human trafficking over our uncontrolled Southern Border.
