And how suited are Progressives to any of the above?

That's the point I'm trying to make. They are entirely unsuited to such a life, yet they champion it. Because they don't understand that it would be as per your examples, times 10.

I know plenty, in my country. And they're just the ones known to me personally.

Yeah, but again, I think religions are more like socialism with a dictator or a monarchy. Not all are equal and that is one of the ideas. All are equal. All work. Alll contribute. All get the same. Not possible.

It's worse than that, in some senses. It's so absolutely hinged upon labour, that your 'ideas' are never considered. There is no room for poets, philosophers, political theorists, or comics. There is only productivity.

It can. I know a collective which does it very successfully.

Well, you claim to support Communism and frankly it seems you support Democrats. I would name Sanders as my choice at the moment. But how about Saul Alinsky when he lived? I am thinking of others, but tend to want to forget their names.

Correct, and the Left's great leftist Hope for Change himself perfectly described both leftist ideology in general and Marxism specifically when he looked the United States square in the face and sneeringly said of its productive segment of citizenry, "You did not build that!" It said it all, really.

Who said communism is great? You confuse accurate facts with praise. But you aren't even distinguishing communist ideas from communist socioeconomics! You call a nation "communist" if it's political system is dominated by a party that called itself "communist" in spite of what they ahve done in complete conflict with Marx and everything he stood for.

I have a news flash for you. Communists and their parties around the globe have failed and imploded or converted to capitalist wannabees. The communist effort is dead, thankfully. So all your efforts to point to "communist" countries are bogus. But you don't know this. You don't know the actual history of those countries regarding Marxism, socialism, and communism. Instead you run in fear from your opinions on it. And worse, you don't want to know.

They are kind of like that at university. That's one place that pushes something that looks like communism or a plutocratic oligarchy.

Well, I'd agree they are duped and unsuited. They don't want told what to do at home. They don't realize the totality of commitment it is.

Universities push Cafe Communism (aka, more free money from rich people), not actual communism. They may as well teach kids to scream helplessly at the sky. Oh wait .. they did that ..

    Barack Obama.
And the clueless younger generations will party-hardy right up to the moment when Marxists screw them against the wall. Nice!

Not bad, Chester. But there's one little issue with that. Socialism is still in the experimental stage. Socialists continue to experiment, guided by analyses of past failures, to find how to establish true socialism, and great headway is being made I believe.

Yes, very similar to the Bible - the Bible is so arrogant that in Revelation (19 or 20, IIRC) Jesus forbids anybody from daring to ever improving upon it....very very communist-like, and showing that Jesus was an ego-maniac. Communism and religion stifle individual initiative, obviously! Just TRY to improve the Qur'an, and see how many days your head and body remain a cohesive unit!

In communism and religion the state/prophet do the thinking FOR you - communism and religion are a sanctuary for the intellectually lazy.

Yeah, that's why I think they are pushing a plutocratic oligarchy with a socialist economy for the average person.

Learn the actual history of communist vs. socialism efforts and theory and you'll understand. Until you do you know nothing about their history, and so you know nothing about what they were and now are.

Our species has been around for 180,000 years or so - if they can't get it right after 180,000 years then they likely never will. Time to give up on the pipe-dream of a socialist utopia. Although...in socialist-paradise Venezuela the military is so nice and friendly that they hand out food to people, so I guess socialism can't be all THAT bad:
