Kindly explain Communism

There has been. no. communism. and you don't know it. There has been grossly failed attempts at socialism by some operating on what they believed to be conclusions of communist ideology. And you don't know what I just said.

 

So, on a scale from anarchy on the left to total government control on the right, it almost comes around in a complete circle to anarchy. It produces folks who would gladly take anarchy over what they would have.

There has been (and still is) PLENTY of communism. If the only form you're aware of is that practiced in the 20thC by a few rogue nations, you are most definitely lacking in information.

Funny, wikipedia, under "Communism", has like 25 screen-fulls of information on communism - if YOU were correct they'd only have one sentence: "Communism has never existed anywhere". Funny that.

 

Well you see, to implement communism you HAVE to suppress people's freedom first and foremost. They are supposed to become servants, dependant individuals, who don't make questions and are forbidden to think freely.

If they were free to express themselves, then communism could not work. The state tells you what to do and what is right and wrong.

 

You were never in a "fully functioning communist country". That would require that the country went through many generations of socialism and the state machinery and the classes "withered away", and that can't happen unless the rest of the world is also socialist.

You're confusing communist parties and their policies, with classless, stateless communist society.

A very good and succinct explanation. Even when VOLUNTARY, this truth applies. It simply does not work unless all members of the collective conform. At least when it's voluntary, this is clearly understood and accepted.

FTR though, it can and does work, when all are in agreement. It takes a certain kind of person to stomach such a rigid and regulated life, but they do exist.

 

Quite true. And, you guys know @Kode and I do not agree much. Real communism must evolve naturally. To get there, they need to start with something. They try socialism. It doesn't usually make enough money, so they use some capitalism mixed in. Once they go to socialism, they have to have a dictator, usually. At that point, things go wrong. Greed comes into play. Socialism isn't allowed to turn into communism.

Only places I think it works is like a church organization of some kind, usually ending in suicide or terrible things, within a traditional family, or within a school system. But, I am wrong. Not everyone works and some have more than others. I can't think of a place it works.
