What if that man that breaks into your house has a high capacity magazine? What if he is able to suppress you, because he can afford to put more rounds downrange, and is able to move to a location where he has cover and you are exposed? If you are following the law, and the criminal is not, you are (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. Law abiding citizens should have access to as much firepower as they can afford. That is what is going to save lives. Gun restrictions get innocent people killed, while empowering criminals who ignore the laws anyway.

Other than your own self defense and starting your own private war, what are the many other legitimate uses for high capacity magazines are there, that you failed to mention?

Well then, if an ordinary person is not capable of using a weapon with a high capacity magazine because of age, disability, or other impediment, while the non-ordinary person is perfectly able, how does granting the non-ordinary person a weapon with high capacity magazines going to make the ordinary person stronger then? In that case, you are making the non-ordinary person even more stronger, when the ordinary person is not able to use the high capacity magazine. You see, that door swings open both ways. The common sense solution is to not let anyone have high capacity magazines, because we all know there are many old and disabled people out there, not strong enough to use weapons with high capacity magazines.

You begin by going after the original criminal who sells high capacity magazines at gun shows by making it a federal offense with serious jail time if caught. That's the first line of defense.

 

Should we start monitoring the ports, cargo ships, and warehouses for a Transportainer or several loaded full of a shipment of several million Chinese made Machetes?

I hope we get a lot of video footage of the criminals and gangbangers showing up at LAPD to turn in their soon-to-be illegal high capacity magazines. After all, I'm sure they want more of a fair fight when using weapons to commit crimes, and since they're becoming illegal it's only logical that they'd surrender theirs. Seems to have worked well in the past to reduce gun violence, right?

with respect to a 15 round magazine vs a 10 round, the difference is a few ounces. Do you really think an elderly person who can shoot a pistol could not handle the extra couple of ounces? Also, with each trigger pull, the gun loses weight
