I am trying to find out where the Larry Elder victory party will be staged tonight in LA. I want to hear his fiery seedy regarding how he really won and was cheated by evil Democrats live. Any ideas about where the event will be held?

 

IMO, both major political parties need to move toward the center and refocus on recreating a large and dominant middle class economically. That's the best system for supporting democratic institutions. The polarization between left and right is a major reason for the growth of authoritarianism. And, reforms are needed, doing away with gerrymandering, which leads to a top to bottom driven political system, and the filibuster revamping, to ensure the minority is heard, but preserving majority rule.

Being a Virginian, I'd just be guessing, but symbolically, the only 2 places in California that would be suited to a Republican in California would be Fantasyland at Disneyland or Death Valley....

 

The return of the "Poor Houses." The cities created fortunes...then we sent all of the jobs offshore and/or replaced them with robots...and the city populations became service workers at far less money or unemployed. Some are slowly getting better, with mandated minimum wages and techies who don't want to live in either the suburbs or rural areas.

 

I see it as the large increase in property values have removed a significant amount of people out and on the streets due to their income.

That’s false and you know it. Democrats have elected far more blacks and other people of color to high office than Republicans have by far.. In California alone we have recently elected a black woman to the US Senate and voted overwhelmingly for her as Vice President of the US. The reason Elder is not receiving widespread support here is because he is a right wing Trump loving nut running in a state that Trump lost by 30 points. Race has absolutely nothing to do with his unpopularity.

 

I like the Streets of San Francisco but prefer the Streets of LA.
