Elder, and the rest of the Republicans that are already crying foul are anti-democracy. But then again, 90% of the republican party has been since Trump got beat in the election. It's quite the fascinating state. The urban areas, which are where all the liberals live, are shitholes. Much of the rest of the state is some of the most beautiful country in the world.

 

I've vacay'ed there many times, including the week of 9/11.... Been to Redwoods, Yosemite, Tahoe, and the top of Mt. Whitney (20 hours round trip with 2 hours of rest).

Also driven through SF, LA, and SD and I didn't have any shithole experiences, but it was only for a few days.....
