Criminal investigations shouldn’t be based on cost. Although that one did yield a lot of arrests and forfeitures than paid for the investigation anyway.
A foreign power was helping a campaign and the campaign manager was giving internal campaign data to a Russian agent. It’d be criminal not to investigate that.

where in the article did Larry Elder concede? I saw 'appears to have made concession...' which is not the same.

This can't be stressed enough. Four more years of Trump and the republic will cease to exist in it's current form.

Pointing out where democratic leadership and policies will take your state is the main point of my post. In 20 years of constant control it's evident that the leadership and policies of the Democrats is garbage as is the state now.

So much so that even the Democratic voters are now fleeing in droves to get out of the **** state theve created.

    :)

Oh come ON willya. It's the EXACT SAME THING and it SAYS so

THIS is what people are beginning to HATE about Trumpers, GASLIGHTING, standing right NEXT to something and saying it's not there and then acting like YOU'RE the crazy one.

I think the way I do from common sense. I view the way you think as backward. People are not all the same. So i assume you come to this forum to change minds? It is a purpose fraught with frustration.

Good you find it humorous. Having to choose between two bad options, or 46 bad options, wouldn't make me happy.

There was one easy-as-pie option.... Vote No... Most did..

I do see they are posting the numbers for question 2

    67% in

    No - 5818348
    Yes - 3244922
    Total - 9063270

    Elder (Q) - 2328681
    Paffrath (D) - 495999
    Faulconer (R) - 434514
    Total - 4998032

So that mean that over 4M people followed the Newson request not even to answer Question 2

But if Yes had won, Cali would have had a governor elected with < 26% of the vote....

Almost guarantee you Cali will be changing how a new governor is chosen if the recall vote is successful...

Yes it was inevitable that one of the bad choices would be chosen. No surprise there.

Well... yeah, when the actual, REAL cost-of-living is taken accurately into account (a practice ALWAYS ignored by those who try to convince us of what they say "inflation" is), you can contrast it against earned income and guess what? In many ways, it balances out!

But, still, you do make an excellent point, Dairy -- 'Blue-and-Bluer' California is one of America's foremost examples of what develops in all nascent 'banana-republics' -- a two-class society! In essence, it's the template that Orwell described in "1984" -- Inner Party members (and their Outer Party flunkies, functionaries, and stooges), and a huge and growing number of "Proles"... remember?

And, to add injury to insult, that very wealthy class of Californians (like the very wealthy everywhere in the U. S.) pay comparatively little in taxes because of all the loopholes, tax shelters, deductions, exemptions, exclusions, and 'carried-interest' allowed in the U. S. Tax Code.

So, who pays? Not so much the rich, and not the growing masses of 'poor-and-getting-poorer' Californians... no -- it's the Middle Class that's being squeezed out of existence. And that's happening in hyperliberal strongholds like California faster and in worse proportion than in most other parts of the country -- which is part of the reason many of them continue pouring out of 'the Golden State' like rats leaving a sinking ship....

And that, Mr. Franks, surely ranks as the least informative, purely evasive, non-answer I've seen in this Forum in several weeks!

But, all the happy little California Libocrats are exultant this morning -- their expertly-crafted, mounting economic, sociological, and environmental CATASTROPHE will continue unabated on all fronts.

Going forward, then, I hope they enjoy each and every moment of your "this-all-remains-to-be-seen" meme....

The United States was a two class society well into the 20th century.

The CoL in California can be deceptive. As a whole, the state's CoL is about 50% higher than the national average, but this is concentrated in the coastal population centers. A city like Redding, for example, has a CoL only 8% above national average. SF, in comparison, has a CoL 169% higher.

And just for shites and giggles, let's examine how real estate effects the CoL in an area. I'll use Incline Village, NV, which has some of the most expensive property in the country.

Incline Village, Nevada Cost of Living (bestplaces.net)

    National average = 100

    Overall: 182.3
    Grocery: 110.9
    Health: 92
    Housing: 373.5
    Median home cost: $1,262,700

    Utilities: 86.1
    Transportation: 97.2
    Miscellaneous: 99.5

If we exclude real estate, everything but groceries is cheaper than the national average in the wealthiest town at Lake Tahoe.

This holds true with your thesis that the rich congregate, thus pushing prices higher, but the main contributor to this inflation is the cost of real estate.

I don't have any answers; I fully support free markets, but sometimes regulation is needed. The outrageous cost of real estate in areas with concentrated wealth may be one of those times.

Rent is so high in San Francisco that I’m a software engineer and I live in a van — Quartz (qz.com)

(To see the effect of taxation and regulation, SF's median home price is about 17% higher than Incline, but the cost of housing is about 60% higher.)

And in his concession speech, no mention of a challenge to the results. Such a lot of hot air to please Trump in the days leading up to the race - then nothing.

yeah.. our honest election have been history.. they just used to appease and lie about it, after they stole an election from a popular President.. who won by a landslide, they not longer bother to hide the thief, they are way to powerful to have to worry about that. One on the most important things Pres Trump did was expose the corruption and the corrupt.

    You nailed it.

If I were a repuiblican I certainly wouldn't waste my time voting again.

My advice to you is give money to "stop the steal" and stay home next election.

    :roflol:

    NOTHING Was "Stolen"...
    (Biden Won Fair and Square)

    Trump Was NOT "Popular"...
(IF Trump was actually "Popular" he would have Won).

The FACT is that Trump was So UNPOPULAR that he LOST to Weekend at Bernie's...

Trump DIDN'T win "by a landslide"...
    (Trump LOST by a Landslide)

But, outside of those 3 things, your statement was spot-on...:bored:

    Any more Hot Takes?

About how "2+2=5", The Sun Sets in the East, Etc...
    ___________

Anyway, back to the actual topic of the CA Recall Election...

    Elder NEVER Had a Chance...

Everybody KNEW That Newsom Would Be Retained in a Landslide...

The Entire Process was Colossal Waste of Money (and the definition of Fool's Errand).
