We have a long way to go.

Remember, Republicans are just getting home from work.

Well I can't see how anybody in their right mind could vote democrat, but the government works better with bipartisanship.

The problem is there are just too many lunatics in congress. We honestly should consider breaking into two countries. That's how far apart the sides are

Yeah they have been saying that on fivethirtyeight.com since it jumped from +12% to +45% for the Republicans.

    We will see.

But Republicans picking up 3 seats is more than we thought and Democrats getting less than 30 is A LOT less than we thought.

So far, the governors races are nowhere near a blue wave either. Looks like we were once again duped by media and polls, wow, I am so shocked...

This would be an absolute catastrophe if it were to happen to the United States

There is a reason generals throughout time have used "divide and conquer"

Things usually change drastically late in the day when republicans get off work.

If only Republicans had sane and humane policies, otherwise I wouldn't feel so passionately about defeating them. Want to get along? Accept the science on climate change. Want to get along? Work with us on making healthcare actually work for everyone in this country.

Obama tried to work with Republicans when they had the complete majority, it was Republicans who decided they would seek a strategy not of compromise, but absolute victory. This is being pursued because of fear of older generations of changes happening in the US, to try and engineer America's political future. It will backfire and fail.

Same as I feel. I can't stand the Democrats but the Republicans are far more likely to practice what they preach when they have to bump up against Democrats. Our best years are when we have divided government.

Yes, because you cannot imagine anyone else thinking something "sane" if they do not agree with you.

    Right?

This is the exact childish temper tantrums to not getting your way I am talking about, how can you be so incredibly narcissistic to think you are morally superior to half the freakin country? It's insane that people can be that arrogant.

Yes because when they finally get power, they reveal themselves to be the big business and fossil fuel shills that they really are.

I only partially agree with this.

Republicans and Democrats have been like clockwork with this, both doing it as they pander to their base in some areas and pander to the general public in others.

I do agree partially though because I think Dems have gone FAR off the deep end this time

There are plenty of people who disagree with me who have totally sane positions. Wanting to become the biggest oil exporter in history and reviving coal when we are on the brink of major ecological collapse would be an example of a policy I find insane. Would you like some more examples, or is it totally arrogant and narcisstic to have concern about all life on planet earth?

I'm reminded of the 2016 elections all over again. I predict only +8 seats in the House for the Dems, based on the current going rate.

Yes, it is totally arrogant and narcissistic to think your concerns are more valid than half the country to the point of calling them names.

Na, they will get somewhere between 22-26 IMO.

I am really shocked at how insanely close it is coming out to be, the House and Senate are going to be almost 50/50

Although I am not surprised the Republicans are picking up more in the Senate and Governors than the media said, those always seemed ridiculous to me.

When it comes to wrecking the planet for the future of humanity, no, I will not be nice to you. You are simply wrong as a matter of science, and the failure of your generation to do anything will be a stain on the history of humanity. The earth is more valuable than your opinions, or mine and the facts are that it is warming due to our activities and your party suppresses that truth in the pursuit of short term profits for your special interests. There is no parallel in history to how dangerous a political party can be, and I don't care how many people you get to vote for you. The Democrats consistently get more people to vote for them, but urban areas are punished by design thanks to our anti-democratic founding fathers.

538 seems to be bouncing all over the place. They should be posting a certainty number as well.

Well, I'll be honest in that I've never tracked the House/Senate races before, and Dems are doing stronger in areas than I expected. Namely, Texas. It's going quite blue in a few races there.

Looks like the blue wave got stopped by the red wall. Odd how the media had it wrong, again....
