You don't even know if the police knew there was anyone else in the car while HE DID. The windows are blacked out. And even if they did the LAST thing they could allow was for the fleeing FELON to drive off with them. HE endanger the kids who I have heard referred to as his own and as grandkids.

He had already attacked them while armed and he was trying to enter a vehicle to flee and reaching down to where a probable additional weapon could be stashed.
