Yeah. They'll take the high ground and the trumpettes can take the low. Justice can be poetic afterall.
I have always thought that in the best interests is not a zero sum transactional equation. Unfortunately trump's ingrained perspective has proven that to be true. What he's done to the softpower triad in pursuing his policies is doing serious damage to the notion american greatness. I might add that everyone on the planet knows that America always puts its interests first. That's how they emerged as the superpower it is today.
Good, they need to all quit from the top down. The state dept lifers are the reason why we and the world have had twenty years of chaos. They are anachronisms. Arrogant and self important and all knowing. They are a bigger danger to us the American people than any single President by a long shot.
'Keep the scum contained' is pretty much the Dems' mantra, huh? Cant blame the ones jumping ship. They obviously have a good reason for leaving.
No not contained drained off into an isolated reservoir NOT splashed all over the america. But then again what use is environmental protection. just creates unnecessary expense.
So you don't think that government departments like state and defense are responsible for creating american foreign policy? Funny, i thought they were the independent apparatus of power which is directed by their current political masters. The structure is constitutional designed to facilitate the peaceful transfer of power while maintain america's presence and policies until the new guy delivers his marching orders. It isn't riddled with partisan conspirators. Its riddled with AMERICANS all whom and amazingly enough have this peculiar and at times inconvenient right articulated in the first amendment. The right to free speech which includes political party membership and opinions on the politics of the nation. Seems many on the right think there should be some sort of political partisan test on all government job applications.
social justice, Social progress, I'm not quite sure what you mean by that? If you're referring to abortion or gay marriage, the third tenet of a tradition conservative is small government - Keeping government out of an individual citizen's private business and lives. In other words, let the woman decide on abortion and let love decide on marriage, not the government. Keep government out of it. there is a huge difference between a religious or social conservative and a traditional conservative. Although both are stuck with the word conservative. The first would use government to enforce their religious values on the rest, the latter wouldn't. If this wasn't what you meant, let me know.
The zero sum game or equation doesn't work in the real world. It is give and take that does. We'll do something for you if you do something for me.
WE violently agree. unfortunately trump and his administration does not. The nafta negotiations with CANADA bear witness and in that deal, american enjoys a $60 billion or so surplus in the more than half trillion in trade we engage in every year and they STILL want to play zero sum. sad.
Not unnecessary, just duplicated by environmental protection agencies at every level of govt... city, county, state AND federal who all use contractors to clean up any problems. What we've got now is a bureaucracy pretending to be environmental activists.
You won't need to worry about that the memo will be released and it will show the democrats for who they really are.
small efficient government is a tenet of classic liberalism and conservatism as well. I was referring to the classic conservative attitude towards traditional values and cautious approach to any change. vs classic liberalism which empowers social change thru individual efforts in a free market society.
On that, I don't care for change. Although I know change is inevitable. For good or bad, change is constant. Nothing remains the same. If I had my way, where I live would still have acres and acres of woods and farm land. No housing divisions, suburbs, shopping malls and plazas. Way too many people in my county now. It is time to move. They call that progress. I call it congestion, over building. So perhaps in that area, I am much more the traditional conservative than the classic liberal. It's not that I fight change or progress as it is known wiping out thousands of acres of farm land and forests. I hate it, I put up with it, but don't really embrace it. Perhaps life is easier because of it. Kroger, Home Depot, Best Buy, Walmart, a Wendy's, Burger King, McDonalds, Golden Corral, O'Charlies, Arby's and a ton others store have popped up not more that two to five miles from me. Traffic is horrible. I don't have to drive 10 miles into town anymore, town has come to me. But I do long for the day, the past, when we had 120 acres of farm land and 50 more of woods. I suppose I'm a crazy old coot there.
Nah, I get the same feelings if different subject. Sometimes little things like when driving down a street under a tree canopy and recall when they were first planted pencil trees 60 feet across the road from each other. Or when I go to a part of the city I haven't been to in 20 years and can't recognize it because all the landmarks have been obliterated. OTOH, I've witnessed a remarkable change in Canadian society. When I was a kid it was almost pure WASP in Ontario. Now we have a rich racially and culturally diverse society. A radical and dramatic social change that as far as i can tell, the benefits far outweigh the problems. There's one thing we can take to our graves and that is change never stops no matter how hard some might try. From one crazy old coot to another - cheers.
Way too cold up there for me. Georgia gets too cold for me nowadays. We have another old saying, "You can take the boy out of the country, but not the country out of the boy." Problem is this old boy hadn't gone anywhere, the city has come to me.
Colleagues briefed by Dick Durbin. Collogues who immediately reported it to the media just as he knew they would.
Aaaaaand then there is the real world where the invasion of Afghanistan was authorized by Congressional legislation, not executive orders.
After how badly these clowns destroyed Libya, good riddance! FRUITS OF HILLARY’S FAILED, UNAUTHORIZED, MILITARY INTERVENTION: Slavery in Libya: Life inside a container.
Jonsa is still reading CNN and using it as reliable. See Jonsa - Once you realize Google, Microsoft, Viacom, Apple I-tunes, Time CNN, PBS, BBC, NBC are all part of the CIA / M-16 DUMMY CORPORATION conglomerates - you notice ALL THE MESSAGES ARE BEING sent are DUMBED DOWN FOR MASS CONSUMPTION: Eminem, Gangsta Rap, Sting, U2, apolitical no message TV shows, song lyrics, magazines, and films - why do you think these no message actors and posers get Knighted by the Queen - Sir Elton my arse - this is blanket corporatism whose message is ignorance, insanity, and DEATH. They don't care if you're black, go buy my gangsta rap and shoot each other ! THE CIA DUMMY CORPORATIONS SAY go die in endless pointless wars SYRIANA, GREEN ZONE, PEARL HARBOR, so they can profit, buy a gun, etc. Just like generations before ours, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart sold wars and Winchesters now shown on TCM. They're all war whores - In fact, Speilberg has a propaganda movie named 'war horse.' I don't see these 'news' anchors, actors, and singers saying anything THE CIA DUMMY CORPORATION doesn't want them to. So you can stop posting DIVIDE AND CONQUER crap from CNN-NBC. ...
