True, but you get many chances during basic to do that. There's also "fat camp" in basic for those that are well behind on PT.

We'll keep that in mind when Obama and Clinton die.

The military does not want anyone with a medical condition the USG will have to pay for for the rest of their lives.

How significant are Trump's foot "bone spurs" - do you know if they would have let him in?

Today's millennial generation are nothing but Pillsbury Doughboys that 75% of the millennials are rejected from serving in the military today.

I remember who were rejected and classified as 4-F's when I was of military age, mostly high school jocks who played sports and ended up with either bad knees, bad backs, bad shoulders or even bone spurs.

Knew a couple who were rejected for flat feet but why not just draft them into the Navy ?

I would salute them both for their service, and as I suspect they realize by now it was really a s%$t job.

I agree, but I suppose even the Navy has to walk - a little. ;-)

If you are found having one bone spur while serving in the military you are discharged ASAP with a 15% VA disability.

Bone spur in both feet it's a 30% disability that the taxpayers have to pay.

If Trump's bone spurs weren't detected during his draft classification medical it would have been definitely detected during basic training and Trump would have been discharged with a 30% disability.

You nailed it! The 'read my lips' liar Bush, Sr. is now adored by the left, because they detest President Trump. And of course they would, they are nothing but globalist elitist tools. His son had that Iraq leader killed, because he insulted his daddy. The country and their leader had nothing to do with 9-11. That's what the great Bushes leave us, a useless war where thousands of our people were killed.

I don't think being a private on kitchen duty at some base in the US makes one more qualified to be president than someone who never served.

It was all easy to me since I had been in college before taking the test. I ended up doing TOW missile systems and power generation.

It must have been a while since you've been in the military. Even a "private on kitchen duty" must receive the same combat training, leadership courses, and have education requirements once in service.

Civilians have such a wrong vision of cooks in the military lol

I had diagnosed early childhood asthma, but lied to get in.
Cross country background - I knew it was no longer a problem.
Foot problems would have been an issue - probably would have tried the Navy.

I initially enlisted 35M human intel. However, since I enlisted in the Guard, I would have had to wait 10 months to ship to basic because of budget cuts in Massachusetts.

So they said "We can contract you into 11b it ships in two weeks". :)

It was not, in any way, intended to disparage cooks in the military. All vets deserve our respect, regardless of what role they played. The fighters can't fight without food. That's not my point. Having military classes in leadership several decades ago does not make someone a leader and no president needs to know how to combat in a war situation.

I would like presidential candidates to pass a constitution test, though. That'd be nice for all people who swear to uphold the constitution.

I suppose it all depends how flat your feet are to be rejected.

My brother has flat feet but was allowed to enlist in the Marine Corps in 69 and did a tour of duty as a grunt with 1/7 in the Nam and then did a tour of duty at the Marine Barracks at Gitmo.

Todays soldiers and Marine grunts don't go on 100 mile force marches like they use to and either fly or drive to the battlefield today but they still hump and grunt as a grunt carry ridiculous heavy loads on their backs.

To me, it makes sense to have someone with actual military experience to be the Commander in Chief of the armed forces.

I know that doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but it makes sense to many veterans.

If you were a good cook in the military you were the most popular person in camp.

The Army seemed to have better cooks than the Marine Corps.

When in Vietnam we would go out of our way to visit an Army fire base just hoping we would be invited for chow.

The Navy had the best chow and cooks and I've been told the Air Force chow was even better.

I don't think being military or not has had much impact, either way. All recent presidents have fallen in love with perpetual war. Sending young men to die must be easier when you can view it from the comfort of the Situation Room. With all those shiny, expensive toys Congress bought them, I understand the attraction to use them.
