Truly, we should have elected her in 2008, but then again we were just so desperate to make sure we got rid of Republicans that it seemed safer to bet against American racism instead of misogyny.

In any case I am predicting she will run and win in 2016. Much can change in 3 years but the Republicans are dead now and I don't see them doing anything to change that.

No, I don't think Hillary Clinton will run for President in 2016, at least not if the decision is left up to her. But, a lot of Democrats are desperate to get her to run after Obama leaves office because there's no one on the up and coming list who's special, interesting, or available. And, probably not a woman of her caliber, with a women's rights background, and who also has a lot of political dynasty capital.

I think about Hillary Clinton running in 2016 a lot. I think I could agree with saying that if Hillary Clinton were to run that she would win.

However, what is saddening is that the Democratic party doesn't have anybody that is, in my mind, a true progressive. Sure, I could vote for Hillary, but it would be nice to see an all out progressive candidate as well.

You're forgetting that she's "one of the best Secretary of States [sic] in history." (Obama, 2013)

I see a Hillary run as inevitable.....and she would likely win handily in todays atmosphere. A hardcore progressive however, would be opposed even more drastically than Obama has been, and todays dysfunction would seem like nothing in comparison.

There may be timidity in the Democratic Party's choice, but, in the present climate, it is moderates that win elections. The GOP has been slow to figure that out, but have just been administered a remedial lesson. Big Business abandoning the GOP when they promote the berserkers dooms the TPs.

Away from the headlines, Alabama's Bradley Byrne, a moderate backed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, vanquished TP darling Dean Young in a special GOP primary.
Increasingly, and especially after the disastrous stunt by the congressional 'shut-er-down!' wacko-birds, business groups are allocating vast resources to overcoming the debilitating TP infestation. Expect the fumigation to intensify in the 2014 primaries.

I'm sure the Rightwingers are correct....."Benghazi will destroy Hillary in 2016"....

just like how Vince Foster and Lewinsky-gate stopped her from getting elected to the Senate.

I think by time 2016 rolls around, with all the scandals and the terrible economy, and new socialist train wrecks like Obamacare people will be done with the progressive agenda and ready for change in the other direction. The people were promised they could keep there healthcare and instead they got cars for clunkers.

I don't know why you think the Tea Party is responsible for the losses. Democrats played a shill libertarian against Cuccinelli. Republicans need to start putting up shill Green Party candidates against democrats if that is how the game is played now.

I hate to break the news to you but the "scandals" you are refering to are not real, they are basically just "boy crying wolf". The Republican/TeaParty is so delusional at this point if Obama forgets to flush the toilet. Republicans are gonna call for hearings and impeachment or whatever will rally their base. The sad part is if they actually had decent policies they might have a chance. However they have spent the last 6 years doing nothing. Why on earth would anyone vote for a group of people that cannot and will not do their jobs.

After TP backers saw uber-lobbyist Dick "Dick" Armey take the hapless TPs for an $8 million ride, the fat cat special interests started taking a look at where their special interests lie. They didn't make their boodle by investing in lost causes (unless they snapped them up and sucked them dry like the Willard, of course.)

Lying for months about an anti-Muslim video fanning the flames against the U.S. in order to cover-up complete incompetence of protecting our diplomats and weapons transfers to al Qaeda is not a scandal? NSA spying on every American is not a scandal? Using government agencies like the IRS, BATF, FBI and EPA to target political enemies, suppress votes of the opposition, violate the First Amendment free speech rights, and defrauding the public of a free and fair election is not a scandal? Killing Osama Bin Laden was great, killing 30 Seal Team 6 members by compromising their identities and their mission, no so great... Lying to the American people about covering the uninsured, keeping your insurance and doctor, and a 600 million dollar waste of money on a web site that doesn't work, and the entire Obamacare law is just a complete fraud on the American public, but that's not a scandal. I wish Obama would flush some of his crap programs down the toilet.

For you republicans not support democrat socialists policies is doing nothing, for me they are doing their best against a radical democrat agenda and a complicit media in the tank for an incompetent president. Why does anyone vote for a party that hates their own country so much the elect an incompetent novice who is sympathetic with the enemy?

Not true at all. Try watching news other than Ed Shultz or Rachel Madcow! The Republicans have produced many legislations, but Reid won't even let them be discussed! We have a DO NOTHING SENATE! :frown:

lol, they're dead now and current predictions have them keeping the House and gaining a few seats in the Senate. If this is bottom for them, then it's not a bad low possibility.

She'll certainly have a much harder general election than Obama did, and the general election will be harder for her than the primary. Given her lack of name recognition in relation to her likely opponents, she's likely to be close on a lot of the potential matchups. Christie is the most likely nominee at this point, and despite far less name recognition he is only about 5pts behind her at this point. Early polling of Romney at this time had him only getting 38%. Note Cruz is now matching up to her getting 37%, as unpopular as he is.

Lack of name recognition. Hillary Clinton? Are you sure we're talking about the same person:confusion:

And the predictions on the Republican's performance are based on the Republicans as they stand now, with no choice being given. It's sad when the only way you can win is if nobody's running against you.

214/231 gop seats are safe or leaning gop. 177/200 Dems seats are safe or leaning Dem. That's 92.6% of gop seats are safe or leaning gop, and 88.5% of the dem seats are safe or leaning dem. The point you just made only makes your previous assertion even less likely.

    http://www.270towin.com/2014-house-election/

And as far as name recognition, don't be stupid. I clearly said Christie has a lack of name recognition, *relative* to Hillary Clinton. If that's still unclear, it means: Christie isn't as well know as Clinton.

If you didn't get past the second word in the first sentence then how on Earth can you know the, "post was so completely void of thought and so perfectly insipid"?

I guess just to prove that you didn't read my post you have managed to come up with a really ignorant straw man argument of "disparaging some other minority group".

Perhaps in you next post you might actually make a comment on the subject matter of this thread so as not to insult the intelligence of the readers, instead of yet another trolling comment/post.

Obama really hurt the country when he passed that massive law without 1 republican vote. He is supposed to bring people together to solve massive problems instead he creates all this division and anger. :icon_fork:

That is the reason he is not a good president. :oldman:

Sure the republican brand has been tarnished. The democratic brand really depends on Obamacare and right now it's not looking good. I could be wrong, but I think things will get worse for the healthcare law, and that will bring down the democratic brand.

My prediction is that the GOP will field a strong set of candidates in 2016, in stark contrast to the sacrifice bunt of 2012. If the Democrats run Hillary, it will only hurt their chances of winning the White House again. We don't need any more Clintons or Bushes running the country.

The Democrats can do better; if they choose not to, that's on them.

I also predict that the shunned Tea Party activiists will attempt to field their own third-party candidate. Everyone will be happy with this move because it will be the political equivalent of having a clearly-marked children's table at Thanksgiving dinner. Sort of like what's happened to Ron Paul the last couple elections, but a lot funnier.
