I think you overestimate how much more enlightened those who fall into the opposing demographics are, as well as how many there are of each of these two demographics. Many Trump supporters still believe the things he says when they should know better by now. For both those folks and the folks you mention, they believe what they choose to believe because it sounds good to them or confirms their bias. Segments of the right-wing population are not more acquainted with truth and objectivity than the segments of the left-wing you're talking about, they just like to think they are.

You mean like when he recommended a Malaria drug and was totally eviscerate for it. Or when he wanted the country to just keep on keeping on and the left trashed him for that and the country went into hiding..

So, where are we today? The potential treatment is a Malaria drug! And the economy in the toilet while people hide! And expert now advising the country start returning to the workplace JUST AS VULNERABLE as they were when this all first started..

So what other then a several week STAYcation we are all right back to square one LOLOL

Japan and Sweden are employing the herd immunity strategy. There would in general more tragic deaths due to the virus up front but less overall and of course minimal economic damage and deaths as well.

You mean when the president, who is not a doctor or a scientist, was recommending medicines to people because he saw a news headline? Or when Trump thinks we can just go on business-as-usual while this virus shreds it's way through our population?

Yeah, he got eviscerated, because both of those things were stupid.

The malaria drugs, despite weeks of testing, still have not been proven to be more effective than anything else. The limited studies that have been done have shown mixed results.

We are not going back to work just as vulnerable nor are we going back to the way things were before. There will be many new regulations and restrictions and guidelines that didn't exist before. Flattening the curve is still just as important, and it will unflatten if we allow those rubes amongst us to try and get things back to the way they were pre-virus when that world won't exist for at least another year, more likely two.

Anything that comes out of his mouth. One recent example, there are Trump supporters who thought he had the power to order states to reopen on his personal timetable.

WITMER looks a lot more like HITLER than Whitmer does. The misspelling is part of the jab.

When did he say that ??? Which Trump supporters thought he had the power to open states on his personal time table ??? Where did he claim to be developing his own personal timetable ???

Some people still believe the facts. But how dare any open-minded intelligent Americans listen to the press conferences and weigh the facts/risks/proposals themselves, when they can wait for CNN to spin and politicize it to their liking....

    You might appreciate this :roflol:

Lives have been saved because Trump called attention to the benefits of the hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, and zinc combination.

And what is S Dakota trials using starting this week? ;)

Well we disagree, you are just as vulnerable today as you were in the beginning other then you have been taught how to minimally protect yourself, but it does not make you immune to COVID. I don't think you are proccessing the difficulty you and others will have mitigating the chance to not contract a virus that is both transmitted by touch and microscopic drops from a sneeze, cough, saliva and the hundred if not thousands places it can be.. The time it takes COVID to die on cardboard, plastic, Styrofoam a min 24 hours and as long as 36 hours.. Do you honestly think you and 10 of millions of Americans are ready for that:)

Just think, if you read a news paper, have a pizza delievered, snail mail, gas you car up or touch anything without gloves on, or at the end of the day taking off your protective CONTAMINATED gear..

Ya you reall have this thought out bro ;)

Republican governors dont represent only Republicans. They'll do as their constituents ask, to the extent possible.

With unlimited medical care, yeah, no ****ing ****.

You obviously arent comprehending what I wrote.

What happens if 100,000 people need hospitalization in NYC where they have 16,000 beds? Think the mortality rate of the virus goes up if left untreated?

    Durrr.... duh....

it's not a viable way to handle the virus. It's a viable way to slow the spread of the disease, so the health care resources aren't overwhelmed all at once. And it's working.

it's not ridiculous. They all made a tough call, but it's the right call.

I'm simply pointing out that blaming state economies being shut down on DEMS is factually inaccurate and just silly.

it's just reality. Dems have nothing to do with republican governors not opening up their state economies.

I agree completely. So we slowed, only because we hid from it.. So what's changed today? We are all no less vulnerable then we were at the start.. REMEMBER, 80% of people that contract COVID show know symptoms and are essentially transmission hubs.. The point I'm making is all this was a waste of time, we are all going to experience COVID gently or tragically, nature and DNA will dictate the term of your event..

I didn't see any guns or hear of any violence. No police vehicles overturned or burned afaik.

There's a lot more working class protesting coming down the pike. Live with it.

The working class is not now held back by their jobs, which they have lost. It would only be logically expected they would use their newly found free time to protest.

Amen brother... I AM a golfer (around 3x over 2 weeks in normal times) and I feel if ANYTHING outdoors could safely remain open, it would be golf.

I played on 3/30, the same day my state went into full Stay-At-Home (was announced while I was on the course).

The course I played (several of my closer favorites had already closed) had already taken many common sense precautions.... Ability to remove your ball w/o touching flagstick, and removing bunker rakes and ball washes... I took a cart as a single, mostly because it was so freaking cheap there, but I normally walk most courses.

Another single caught up to me for the final 5 holes... we didn't come within 15 feet of each other at any time.

Such gorgeous March and April weather too, although pretty windy... so sad...

it's not a waste of time. It saved tens of thousands of lives, because we didn't overwhelm healthcare resources all at once. The virus will rage on no matter what we do. This was our only option to save as many lives as we could. Otherwise you have bodies piling up in the streets and in hallways at medical facilities, and mass graves etc. Like in Italy and china.

Jury is still out in Sweden, but it's very possible that's the way it's going to go.

    https://www.unitedpatriotnews.com/n...-herd-immunity-strategy-has-failed-maybe-not/

However, there is zero chance the US could follow the Swedish model... We are 330 million, they are 10.2 million... we couldn't take that "up front" cost like they will...

Very interesting article though... and they make it very clear Sweden is still taking many precautions...

    SNIP
Sweden’s Minister of Health and Social Affairs Lena Hallengren told Vox reporter Alex Ward, “It is a myth that life goes on as normal in Sweden. Many people stay at home and have stopped traveling. There is no full lockdown of Sweden, but many parts of the Swedish society have shut down.”

No Rahl, it simply prolonged the eventual and inevitable. Unless you're claiming everyone that locked themselves in their houses have stronger immune systems now, developed antibody able to combat COVID or simply became immune? You just want to argue away reality bro, we have done nothing to prevent ourselves from living or dying if we contract the Virus, NOTHING! Your chance and my chances of survival are the same today as they were in January.

This post reminds me of all the arguments we made about people burying relatives who were murdered by illegals and that's when the left pops up with population ratios and busing tables.

Don't you think it's ironic that Michigan is essentially locking people up in their houses and keeping them off the streets while NYC is releasing murderers and setting them loose on the streets? Where is your concern about the Pelosi/de Blasio then?
