Good, your satire shows you agree that I am correct and instead have had to deflect the argument to a personal attack against me to change the subject,

I really appreciate you thinking so highly of me that you would need to be defensive! I feel so flattered ....

Hmm, well I don't know who they are and am too drunk/high and tired to look them up.

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a second in Aeronatical Engineering (diff programs) with an emphasis in Thermal control systems, with a double minor in business management and Mathematics.

Then an equally long winded MS in applied Finance that may not give me as much as edge.

But Bill Nye;s education is quite rudimentary

So... this is where I am.

In this thread a report concludes that the oceans are warming rapidly.
And in the forum next door, another report shows that sea levels are not rising.

Which scientist is to be believed in these two apparently conflicting studies?

    Hmm.

    Answer?
    Neither. Results inconclusive.

    Skepticism is still required.

Whatever it is that is or is not happening, it isn't so dramatical that it is visible to the naked eye. I'll go that far.

If we have global warming then why is it we still have winter. I hate winter and would not mind if it went away.

When we say global warming we are talking about the global mean temperature in the lower atmosphere. It's the average temperature over the entire surface of the Earth that is going up. The temperature changes at each location are not homogeneous though. In fact, it is just the opposite. Some regions may cool and may even experience harsher winters. It would be like blocking off an entire section of your house but turning up the thermostat. The temperature in the blocked off section may drop, but when averaged over the entire house it goes up.

I know climate control is not an issue, I was just having a little fun with them. There have been many predictions of all kinds of things about to happen including the earth tilting and placing the equator between Florida and New York, hope this happens though.

Some scientist, can't remember who, predicted it would move on it's own and it would be soon.
