Correct, they just went to watch it by other means that don't have as many commercials.

Truly, if we were to worry about traumatic brain injury in schools, we'd just stop teaching socialism/Marxism. Now that would benefit the masses.

Wing-nuts are still watching football and just lying to the pollsters, as they always do.

    April 22, 2008
CALLER: Amen. I would like to comment that probably the people that I dislike more than the Democrats, are the pollsters, and I sure would not tell them the truth when I answered their poll. And if I crossed over, I would answer their poll.

RUSH: You mean you would lie to a pollster?

    CALLER: Well, for greater good.

RUSH: (laughing) You would lie to a pollster for the greater good.

I'm sure they believe in BLMs agenda so much that they will not unbend the knee when their pay checks begin to shrink.

The Trump base disrespects the flag at every sporting event when the anthem is being played and many remain seated, keep their hats
on, eat hoagies or hot dogs, drink beer, smoke, chew tobacco, complain that the singing of the anthem is holding up the start of the game. They "don't" like the flag to be disrespected, but as hypocrites they do the same thing. But it is ok, right?

That's BJ Raji, the guy is around 300lbs. He played a position where you need a pretty decent amount of body mass to be effective. There's a reason why Cornerbacks and Safety's aren't Defensive Ends, they aren't big enough.

Once you start getting to that weight it's pretty hard to be ripped unless you are a freak of nature with freak of nature genetics. For him to be "cut" he'd have to lose like 100lbs and would then become ineffective at the position he plays....So he basically has no choice but to be strong yet also obese.

Most of the "in shape" looking guys are receivers, running backs, and back field defensive players where lighter weight and speed are more important. Linemen don't need to be fast they need to be big and strong.

So basically it's pretty hard to be 300lbs and not look like that....Linemen kinda have no choice. Some people can like Mariusz Pudzianowski (worlds strongest man for like 5 years in a row) but that dude is an actual freak of nature and has genetics that are nowhere near common in most people.

Players deserve less pay anyways. NFL players should start out around $100K to $200K per year with a bonus for interceptions, touchdowns, etc. They get this big paycheck and no longer give a damn about how good they were in college, or their attitudes become total garbage.

I was watching QVC and DIY with my fiance... I should be ashamed, but I enjoyed watching them flip historic houses in Nashville, TN on the DIY. I flipped and flopped and tossed and turned and moaned and groaned for 30 minutes while we watched QVC so she changed it finally. I compromised since I make her watch college football all day on Saturdays. She don't care about any team but LSU.

The only game I tuned into yesterday was the Dallas game and there was about 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter when I turned it on. If you're a life long football fan like me then you're conditioned to expect to see commercials during certain parts of the game. There were a few times I thought for sure a commercial was about to air and it never came. I wonder if the game didn't sell all of it's commercial slots.

Every player should get the same salary, after all, they're in a union, right?

Not everyone in a union gets the same salary.

Very true, in a union (I manage union techs) they usually get paid by title and time, and if all of the people under a title reach the minimum time (here it would be 2 years) then they max out in pay for that title.

That's not always true. Leonard Fournette was a beast at LSU and he is currently killing it in Jacksonville right now...

These guys are competitors they strive to win. That's why you see players getting frustrated and slamming helmets down or going on tirades when they don't get the ball enough or when the team loses sometimes.

Also why you seem them getting so upset when they injure themselves and can no longer play for the season even though they are literally millionaires which basically amounts to "I dont have to work anymore this year".

I'd be perfectly content with making multiple millions of dollars and not having to actually perform my job because I tore my ACL lol...I'll go to all the meetings you want, I'll even hobble around giving guys water on the sidelines and wiping the sweat off of their faces for them. I'd be the happiest guy on the planet if I signed a 5 year $30 million with $10 million guaranteed contract then tore my ACL on the first play of the first game lol. But I don't have the same type of competitiveness entrenched in my blood the way these guys do....

Ahhh... Those were the good ol days... My family was glued to the Saints religiously (no pun intended) every Sunday after church when the Saints would play. Even though we sucked year in and year out, we loved watching them. I still remember if the Saints were doing good, my mom wouldn't let us move for fear that we'd jinx them. We couldn't even get up for something to drink lol. Over the years, the showboating turned her off and she began to lose interest. It all started with Joe Horn and his cell phone move around 2003 or 2004.

A modest 2 Step Plan to revive the NFL:

STEP 1. Add the 1861 5th verse of The Star Spangled Banner:

When our land is illumined with Liberty's smile,
If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
The flag of her stars and the page of her story!
By the millions unchained who our birthright have gained,
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained!
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star-Spangled_Banner

STEP 2. Follow with this older version of The Battle Hymn of the Republic before sporting events.

"John Brown's Body" (a number of versions closely similar to this published in 1861)[edit]

John Brown's body lies a-mouldering in the grave; (3×)
    His soul's marching on!

    (Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah! his soul's marching on!
He's gone to be a soldier in the army of the Lord! (3×)
    His soul's marching on!

    (Chorus)
John Brown's knapsack is strapped upon his back! (3×)
    His soul's marching on!

    (Chorus)
His pet lambs will meet him on the way; (3×)
    They go marching on!

    (Chorus)
They will hang Jeff Davis to a sour apple tree! (3×)
    As they march along!

    (Chorus)
Now, three rousing cheers for the Union; (3×)
    As we are marching on!

Old John Brown’s body lies moldering in the grave,
    While weep the sons of bondage whom he ventured all to save;
But tho he lost his life while struggling for the slave,
    His soul is marching on.

    (Chorus)
John Brown was a hero, undaunted, true and brave,
    And Kansas knows his valor when he fought her rights to save;
Now, tho the grass grows green above his grave,
    His soul is marching on.

    (Chorus)
He captured Harper’s Ferry, with his nineteen men so few,
    And frightened "Old Virginny" till she trembled thru and thru;
They hung him for a traitor, they themselves the traitor crew,
But his soul is marching on.

    (Chorus)
John Brown was John the Baptist of the Christ we are to see,
Christ who of the bondmen shall the Liberator be,
And soon thruout the Sunny South the slaves shall all be free,
For his soul is marching on.

    (Chorus)
The conflict that he heralded he looks from heaven to view,
On the army of the Union with its flag red, white and blue.
And heaven shall ring with anthems o’er the deed they mean to do,
For his soul is marching on.

    (Chorus)
Ye soldiers of Freedom, then strike, while strike ye may,
The death blow of oppression in a better time and way,
For the dawn of old John Brown has brightened into day,
And his soul is marching on.
    (Chorus)

That should make everyone happy. Right? ;-)

Just because I'm a huge fan of a team and the game does not make the constant barrage of commercials less annoying. At least when you're actually at the games you don't have to deal with it.

Like what? I think people just dealt with them. College is exactly the same. Kickoff return, commercial. Timeout, commercial. Injury, commercial. Replay, commercial. FG or TD, commercial. Kick, commercial. It's as bad or worse than the NFL and we mostly still watch on tv.

But a lot of the time, no amount of money or hype from college days can translate on the field. Ask Ryan Leaf.
