I didn't ask about the FED I asked about the Dems who retained their majority control and this is certainly not about Trump. Inflation HERE is about policy HERE stop trying to excuse Biden by blaming others. WE lead the way economically.

And if he claims there is nothing he can do then time to get rid of him he was elected to do nothing and just be a passive sideline observer.

Some bills have to originate in the House Blues such as the budget. And the most important thing is the federal budget and the debt ceiling. In that situation, the GOP has the advantage on that because the Senate cannot address that issue unless the House does it first. But right now, with the results being extremely disappointing to the GOP, they are rethinking their strategy on what to do and what not to do. And McCarthy has to walk that fine line. So, wait and see, for now, is the best approach.

Any "new rules" will be an Executive Order and very limited. But methane gas is highly volatile and highly toxic anyway. Do you really want to breathe methane-air Blues?

What caused gas prices to go up in many other countries? I'm not saying Biden hasn't made some dumb policy changes...he has. But I would like to know what has caused gas prices to go up, as well as inflation, pretty much everywhere?

For argument's sake, if we produce more oil, Saudi Arabia and OPEC will simply cut more of their production on the worldwide demand. Hence, prices will still be high, and so will gas prices. Saudi Arabia controls the future crude oil market and have done so for the past 3 decades or so. At the same time, the oil refineries will not increase production in order to keep those prices high, and their profit margins high as well.

Without the house policy bills aren't going to go anywhere. Losing the house means republicans will waste time on frivilous investigations. Retaining the senate means more likely to be able to confirm nominees.

I don't think there's any policy bill that would be great for inflation. What was your idea?

If they actually had control, I'd want medicare for all, investment in technology especially energy, investment in infrastructure, and a bill to protect abortion. Maybe repeal some tax cuts to pay for things. Maybe that would reduce demand and inflation, lol. But probably not much - it's a global issue.

Maybe we should ask why that is? No seriously, why should a backwards country that is even more backward than the violent extremists in this country dictate gasoline prices?

Isn't it just capitalism? America, the Saudis and Russia are the biggest oil producers. Unlike America, the Sauds are not one of the main consumers (by far the US and China). Therefore, they have the control.

~ I believe these are exactly the Democrats top priority.
    ✔️Destroy the economy ; ✔️Create climbing inflation ; ✔️Keep the border open .
They have been highly successful. :omg:"'

Sounds like a very good reason to rely on our own domestic production... I believe we had a president at one point that considered that pretty important instead of trying to hamper our domestic production as much as he could .

Why is that? Shouldn't this be set at the state level?

Bill Clinton had no problem working with Gingrich and Kasich signing their tax policies and regulatory legislation and their budgets. How much more in taxes are you willing to pay for Medicare for all and do you think we seniors are going to let you take away Medicare by turning it into something it is not?

that is because both sides compromised. But Gingrich would do that and then go on TV and insinuate that the bill was not a good one to begin with, among other things by accusing the Clinton Administration of alleged fantasy crimes. But also remember that in 1998, the longest, up to that date, government shutdown happened because of Gingrich and, once it was over, he pretty much acquired.

As for medicare for all, you realize that is not in the cards. Bernie is still pushing it but has no traction within the overall Democratic Party. The Democratic leadership is more than willing to let him rage on about it because it helps them politically, but won't put forth the bill or even take a vote out of committee.

Then you missed the cause and effect here. Producing more oil will not solve the prices at the gas pump here or worldwide simply because one side will produce more and the opposite side will cut more. This is a global issue, not strictly to the US or by region.

Not much since the Republican controlled house said they will be focusing on impeachment and Hunter Biden.

there is federal and there is state law. State crimes are for state while federal crimes are for Federal. But the point is that even the conservative states like Montana are "being lax on crime" here. Interesting isn't it?

    Ah ok

Why can't federal law change to legalize and regulate (and probably tax) marijuana though? What prevents that?

Well, I plan to watch trump jump into the repub potus race and drag the whole thing into the sewer again.
It will be fun to see the repubs tear each other apart because they’re too afraid of trump and his maga horde.
Also, I plan to enjoy Lake’s loss for a while. She was one of the worst of the election denier bullshit artists with their heads planted in the dear leader’s ass.
I also enjoy knowing you people will be gnashing your teeth and blaming everyone else for your midterm fiasco.

Who cares? The US is still the world’s largest energy producer by far.
We don’t need to ruin our children’s lives making climate change even worse just so you people can guzzle cheaper beer and fill your suvs with cheaper gas.
