I'm an 180lbs weightlifter with 9% body fat. If I'm on a cheat day and want a 32 ounce soda, that' my (*)(*)(*)(*)ing business. Don't force through legislate, you authoritarian.

Okay there Dr. rstones -- a patient shows up in your ER with a fever, chills, and a productive cough. Are they suffering from a bad chest cold, or do they have pneumonia?

A patient shows up in your ER complaining of lower back pain and stomach pain. Is this because they worked outside all day and may have pulled a muscle, or is it because they have appendicitis?

I could list a thousand more, but I think you get the point - you don't know what's life-threatening until you're checked by a physician.

Unless you want to restrict emergency treatment to trauma care only, this is the problem your local ER will deal with.

Here's my question - what if you want a 32-ounce iced tea? What if you want a big glass of water with a couple of Crystal Lights in it?

Can you now not buy that size drink because there aren't any cups that big? Or is the newly created NYSP (New York Soda Police) going to make sure that you only fill your glass with tea, not soda?

    Law & Order:SVU - Soda Victims Unit :D

    Another good question!

God forbid that instead of drinking a pitcher of beer, you drink a pitcher of Pepsi!

There would at least be some nutritional content in the food (particularly the salad - why did you mention salad?).
You are getting almost 200 calories just from the drink at the limit set. There is absolutely nothing else in there but calories, not even any fibre.
    It is seriously unhealthy junk.
Buy a diet coke, for goodness sake!

I take it you are relieved to let government make your serving size decisions for you. It is good that government is so wise and all knowing that it knows when to stop...until it doesn't.

I love these remarks. They are funny. Reminds of this:

But I Digress. I'm more than fine about this. We have all kinds of laws that limit things.

I'll worry then they try to take my guns and ammo away. I'll worry when they try to put some kind of computer chip in me. I'll worry when they try to confiscate my Precious metals. Then we have a problem. Till then. I could careless if I can only get a 16oz pop at a restaurant. With Americas obesity problem, this is a good thing.

Lol I like Parmesan cheese, shredded cheese, croutons and ranch on my salads. Along with a loaded baked potato and a huge steak I wouldn't call that meal good for dieting. And yet oh are worried about how much coke I have?

What's next, you gonna mandate how many refills I can have as well? Gonna tell me how many beers I can have?

Mandate your (*)(*)(*)(*)ed self, I don't need you or some government food nazi telling me what I can eat.

So I go to the movies with my wife, and instead of splitting a 32 ounce coke at $3.50, I have to buy two 16 ounce cokes at $3 each? Maybe that is why they are pushing this law - to get more money for the theaters.

Why don't you just mind your own (*)(*)(*)(*) business and stop worrying about other people's weight problems? Live your own life and quit trying to control other people's lives.

People like you make me sick

That's what happens when dummies elect idiots. There'll be hell on Earth if the future god becomes POTUS.

I suppose New Yorkers will be charged with felonies if they have large containers of soda in their possession.

If he wants to be a totalitarian there are plenty of places he can go but as far as I am concerned he is an enemy to liberty.

    Like NYC, for instance.

There is nothing wrong with mayors being little dictators because they are more easily accountable to the people. If New Yorkers really get tired of him they'll demand his resignation.

Don't get me wrong Serfin, I think the ban is dumb, but there are two sides to the coin. The other is getting kids addicted to junk food at a very young age, grossly impacting their health for the rest of their lives. This needs to be addressed.
