I cannot disagree. Sheriff Joe said something like "Democrats want a utopia where there is free rent, free food, free healthcare, and free education, where nobody has to work. We already have that here, it's called the Maricopa County Jail."

    You trying to censor me?

I was simply mocking the right for their fervent support of "Christian values"....

values that clearly mean absolutely nothing to them.

Regardless of religion, decent people taking care of sick people is a natural phenomena. Callous non-caring people look the other way.

Hogwash. The problem is a complex one because we have culpability for this situation. As Americans and as a nation of immigrants, we have to find a solution and it is complicated. Dumping 'em when we had a lot to do with it isn't an option. We need to develop new immigration laws, install a barrier after some serious research and not Trump's gut, hire employees and border guards, technology, etc. Trump's chaotic 'shoot from the hip' way only has made things worse. Don't blame the other guy. That is stupid. So far, no idea makes much sense.

    No it would not.
Most illegals did not waltz across the border. Most are visa overstays.
Many, see DACA, have been here most of their entire lives.
And any barrier, wall, can be gone over, under, around, and smuggled through.

Because we have bad immigration policies. It's the system.
And our economy needs those immigrants, which is why you never actually see anything ever done about the issue. Because both parties, one of them behind the scenes, knows our Country needs them workers.

A couple paragraphs from the article, probably the only ones that Trumpsters care about since all they really care about is money:

Moreover, despite claims to the contrary, undocumented workers do pay taxes. They pay sales taxes on purchases, ad valorem taxes through rent or home ownership, and many pay social security, Medicare, and worker's compensation via payroll deductions. In my home state of Texas, there is no personal income tax; thus, there is no dodging of state income tax by undocumented workers because the bulk of state revenues are raised through sales and ad valorem taxes.

Local governments also receive federal level assistance to provide extra funding for services that many undocumented workers and their families use. According to the Institute of Medicine, the U.S. reaped a $50 billion surplus from taxes paid by undocumented immigrants to all levels of government in 1997 [2]. The government spends these dollars in a variety of ways, but some of it assists schools, hospitals and health systems, and other local human services, all of which are commonly used by undocumented immigrants.

Not we! The Leftist! There are and have been proper channels to become naturalized and many millions have done it! The lazy left has passed that characteristic on to there food pickers and toilet scrubbers, now they abuse those illegals with shlt wages and treat them just like they did the black slaves in the old south..

Think about it, they cant speak or read English! They have NO ONE to run to when raped, beaten or taken advantage of. They are as close to indentured or slave as you can possible get and still stay arguable in the narrow scope of the leftist eyes :)

Nice life these leftist ARE providing the Hispanics :)

Isn't it strange how the last person Trump's supporters want to talk about is Trump.

They prefer talking about the Democrats, or what the Democratic candidates are saying.

This may come as a shock, but the Democrats are not running the government and there are over 20 Democratic wannabes. What they say and do doesn't affect the federal government in any way.

Trump controls the White House and the Republicans control the Senate. As such, Trump and the GOP are in control of the federal government, and most of Trump's supporters voted for him.

And yet, they don't want to talk about him and they largely avoid threads that concern him. If they do respond to such threads, it is to criticize the accurate reporting of Trump's activities, provide some cartoons, make wisecracks, or change the course of the thread to their favorite subject, Democrats.

    That is absolutely fascinating.

Why are you using words without learning what they mean?

You thought someone was religious; they turned out to be non-religious. It didn't work for you; just take the L.

In your opinion. Morality is relative. There is no such thing as an objective moral truth... What you perceive as decent or just has no baring on the discussion at all.

This makes no sense. The economy, given the data, doesn't need anything in particular because is no heavy slack in the labor market. Some markets (in this case, labor) will tend to be more price competitive than others. Illegal immigrants are more price competitive than domestic labor due to incentives and other market restrictions. That's all.

Look, I can post what I want, and imo, what I'm posting is relevant whether you like it or not.

It worked out fine for me. My point stands, I don't care if the OP or anyone in particular is religious or not.

The fact is, the right pretends to care about Christian values all the time, and they like to shove the idea that this is a "Christian" nation down everyone's throats.

They care about saying Merry Christmas and they care about discriminating against gay people, for example, and use Jesus as their reasoning.

But when it comes to everything else, like taking care of the poor and the sick, all of a sudden Jesus and The Bible don't mean a thing.

Imo, all of your posts to me, all of your judgements, are a colossal load.

True, but I asked specifically why would you use a word without understanding the connotation related to its use? You asked if I was "trying to censor you," as if I had such power...

All you're doing is speaking in generalizations. You're not speaking about any particular person, just a caricature of said person.

Maybe. That's quite the difference; however, another difference between me and you is that you don't seem to understand is that your dopey opinions are just that: opinions. They form no basis for anything factual and they don't make you morally superior to anyone, as you so desperately want to prove...

Man, if anyone is acting superior it's you.

Am I the only one talking in generalizations about groups of people on this forum? That's all of a sudden a crime? :roflol:

The right likes to use religion and Jesus when it suits them, and then ignore it when it doesn't.

That has nothing to do with me being morally superior....it has to do with them pretending to be morally superior, and using religion and Jesus in that regard. But it's all a lie. They don't really care about that stuff.

If you don't like me putting that out there, it's just simply too bad. Ironically, as long as you or others go on about my one initial sarcastic comment, I will say it again and again.

Sounds like Trump should take some advice from his peers about immigration

Because for 2 1/2 years Trump methods " Aint " working

Trump pulled $180 Million Dollars from foreign aid to Guatemala and Honduras ....... Now he spending $4.3 Billion Dollars at our border for housing

Doesn't make a Lot of sense from our " stable genius "

Seems quite clear .....no spin needed .......

What is your take when home countries are unstable yet Trump works hard to make conditions worse ?

No, but I'm not talking to any other person on this forum; I'm talking to you.

Again, I don't know who you are talking about so I don't understand why you keep using "the right" as a nebulous term, as if that is going to make whatever you're saying any clearer.

Serious question: Is English your second language? I find it difficult to believe that your modus of communication involves regurgitating vague generalities without describing exactly what you are talking about.

You don't understand what I'm saying? :wall:

    Seriously?

Perhaps you are the one with English comprehension problems.

What's funny is that you apparently think you are doing some sort of service for the discussion, some sort of effort to keep it on track. Good job.

I never said I didn't understand; I said that what you are saying doesn't make any sense...

I'm merely trying to figure out who these religious zealous are that you keep bringing into the discussion. I don't know who they are. Why would you think this would "prove your point" if I don't know what you're talking about?

    Omg....

That's what you're merely doing? Really.

Well if the subject were homosexuality, you would come across the "zealous" who generally bring religion into the discussion.

But because the subject is the poor and the sick, they are nowhere to be found.
